Artistic Cake Gallery designed by Kai Warycha and Wojciech Chęcinski

The Krakow culinary public has been savoring the products of Konrad Tota's Artistic Cake Gallery since 2009. These are not overly big words - the cakes, chocolates or petit gateau created there delight not only in taste, but also in appearance. The new space perfectly reflects the character of the baked goods of this haute pâtisserie.

The design of the café was created by AVOCADO concept studio, a friend of the Artistic Cake Gallery, specifically Kaja Warycha and Wojciech Chęcinski. It is evident that the architects were heavily inspired by the desserts created by Konrad Tota - their rounded shapes, finely piled mountains of chantilly cream and pastel colors of macarons. Thus, a modern, warm interior was created, transporting customers to a new dimension of taste and aesthetic experience.

Basia Hyjek: Did you give the designers a free hand, or did you want the decor to dialogue with the look of the desserts?

Konrad Tota: We wanted very much for the café's decor to be consistent with the characteristics of the confectionery, which we do. We were concerned with achieving a minimalist effect, while maintaining the warm character of the place. Natural materials and colors that are positive in perception were also important. Communication with Avocado was very smooth, we discussed all the details, the design was largely their invention.

Basia: Was anything about the interior particularly important to you?

Konrad: I'll say with a wink that a pink toilet was very important for us in the target interior :) Especially the sink and toilet bowl :) In addition, the main emphasis was on the choice of colors, combining them and incorporating black matte details into everything. We still left ourselves a lot of freedom for changes and additions, we plan to add greenery and create a hand-painted graphic on the wall with a selfie wall.

Basia: What do you think the interior had to say to customers?

Konrad: In communicating with the client, we wanted to achieve a wow effect, we wanted the interior to face our product and be equally professionally designed and finished. In many respects, it is uncompromising and very pedantically finished.
