The Warsaw Greenery Board has just announced a tender for the preparation of a construction and detailed design of land development over the recently completed tunnel of the southern ring road in Warsaw. Work on the project is expected to take one year from the time the contract is signed. The designed area will be divided into six sections. The next step will be the announcement of a bidding process for the implementation of the first phase of landscaping the new park. It is planned for the beginning of the 2nd quarter of 2023.

We will create a new, extensive linear park of nearly 2 km in length, accessible to all residents. In the project, we focus on solutions that will allow us to effectively manage rainwater and snowmelt. The park's large biologically active area will fit in with the assumptions of the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for the City of Warsaw.

New tree and shrub plantings will surround the alleys and sidewalks. The guiding element of the park's space will be a promenade delineated from Pileckiego Street to Nowoursynowska Street, as well as the so-called "yellow ribbon," meandering through all sections of the area, made of various elements and materials. "Ribbon" in one place will be a surface, in the next it will turn into vegetation, and then into a piece of small architecture or a play element, depending on the place and its function.

Above the South Ring Road of Warsaw we will plant about 700 trees, 28,000 shrubs, we will also create multi-species flower meadows and perennial beds. Residents will be able to relax on the new benches and picnic on the extensive lawns.

In addition to the green areas, there will also be a city square with a fountain in the floor. A tree-planted space with a place for a New Year's tree has been planned for the section from Braci Wagów Street to KEN Avenue. The designers also proposed sculptural play elements and a wooden platform with variable slopes at this location. These elements will be adapted for use by children.

The concept for the development of the area above the tunnel of Warsaw's southern ring road was created by the team of the Proinwestycja office , headed by Katarzyna Łowicka. It is based on public consultations conducted in 2016 . Subsequently, the plans were analyzed and adjusted to the available funding by the Warsaw Greenery Board.
