POLITYKA's Architectural Award - we know the winners!

This year, the awarding of participants in architectural competitions is not without obstacles. Obviously, a coronavirus stands in the way of the proper celebration of the winners. Although the announcement of the results of the competition for the POLITYKA Architectural Award is not accompanied this year by a gala, the joy is no less!

For the ninth time, the editors of POLITYKA awarded the prize in the field of architecture and spatial order - the POLITYKA Architectural Award. The purpose of the competition is to promote architecture in terms of aesthetics, which additionally affects its surroundings and is friendly to its users.

The jury awarded the Grand Prix of the POLITYKA Architectural Award for 2019 to the design studio {tag:pracownie} for the design of the Home for the Homeless in the village of Jankowice, built by the Bread of Life Community Homes Foundation. Studio xy studio - Filip Domaszczynski, Marta Nowosielska and Dorota Sibinska is known for its didactic and care projects. On our portal you can see the Zebra Music Kindergarten project.

The Home for the Homeless project won as many as 11 out of 14 votes. The jury appreciated the project for its interesting, although very simple form, and creative approach to various constraints - the architects, due to the small budget, obtained some of the materials from objects no longer in use today, such as a mill or barn.

The Grand Prix winner was selected by a jury consisting of:

Grzegorz A. Buczek, Paweł Dobrzycki, Feliks Falk, Marlena Happach, Marek Kościkiewicz, Jacek Michalak, Ewa P. Porębska, Krzysztof Sołoducha, Magdalena Staniszkis, Bogna Świątkowska, Jarosław Trybuś, Jerzy Baczyński, Jacek Poprzeczko and Piotr Sarzyński.

In a poll conducted between April 8 and 19 on Polityka.pl, Internet users chose the Nowy Targ office building in Wroclaw by Maćków Pracownia Projektowa. The project won 33 percent of the votes. Right behind it, with 32 percent of the votes, was the New Żerniki estate, also in Wroclaw. The Quadrant House near Warsaw, the Nowe Żerniki estate in Wroclaw and the Canoe Base in Augustow made it to the finals .
