Cake shop interior like a sweet cake? Why not! Preferably with the addition of glitter, or more precisely, the creativity of Bogna Polanska, Zuzanna Klos and Roma Skuza, designers from the Katowice-based studio Brokat, who filled the premises with architectural icing.

In the first floor of a tenement house in Katowice, on Gliwicka Street, Ewelina and Mateusz - owners of the Tortowe Ciocho brand - decided to furnish a café-like space in which to savor their sweet baked goods. They invited designers from the Silesian Brokat studio, who had previously arranged a confectionery studio for their needs.

The space they had at their disposal was not the easiest: the elongated, disjointed projection required a thoughtful functional division. As a result, the main entrance leads to a cafe on a trapezoidal plan, further on we find the "dirty" zone, two kitchens and a backroom with an exit to the courtyard.

The assumptions were very specific. The interior was to refer to the visual identity of the brand, so the main colors were to be pink, blue and white, and the atmosphere of the premises was to be cozy, warm, sweet and full of ideas

The brick façade of the building, so Silesian in its expression, is also introduced into the interior. The walls in the cafe - half raw brick - are covered from below with a lamella, layers of colorful tiles that bring to mind multi-layered cakes! Above the whole is a bright ceiling with exposed wooden structure and installation - its technical character is broken by decorative lighting - pendant lights resembling diamonds, reflective crystals and luminous garlands.

In front of the entrance was placed a bar built of raw, white-painted hollow blocks, which - stacked one on top of the other - look like a structure made of sugar cubes. The rawness of the material was broken by the designers with a "sweet" detail - pink countertops with edges like the edges of butter cookies(scalloped edge).

That's not the end of appetizing accents - the backs of the bench resemble two, giant-sized oversized cookies, and right next to the display case there is.... a carousel, the form of which is a visual combination of the now iconic bracelets of powdered candy and refined French macarons.
