The purpose of the second edition of the PSDZ competition for the best thesis is to promote the issue of green roofs, or living walls, in the broadest sense.

terms and conditions

The competition is organized by the Polish Green Roofs Association in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The competition is one-stage and addressed to students and graduates of Polish universities, who in their engineering/graduate or master's theses address the broadly understood issue of green roofs, or living walls.

The 2nd edition of the PSDZ competition for the best thesis can be submitted works that were defended in 2021 or 2022 and received at least a good grade and deal with the following issues:

• green roof,
• roof with plants in extensive cultivation (colloquially: extensive roof),
• roof with plants in intensive cultivation (colloquially: intensive roof),
• roof with plants in semi-intensive cultivation (colloquially: semi-intensive roof),
• biodiverse roof,
• living wall,
• plant wall,
• green facade,
• vertical garden.

purpose

The purpose of the Urban Design Award 2022/2023 competition is to provide an opportunity to compare the performance of university design studios and students in an international context.

terms and conditions

The competition is organized by the Czech Technical University in Prague. The competition is aimed at male and female students of V4 universities in the academic year 2022/2023.

The Urban Design Award is announced annually by the FA CTU in Prague together with its main partner the Association of Urban and Spatial Planning of the Czech Republic. The competition is open to all full-time students of the co-organizing universities from the Visegrad Group countries.

The competition is open to semester or undergraduate projects that are signed as urban planning projects completed in the academic year 2022/2023. (Master's projects are not accepted for the competition). Works may represent one or two semesters of the academic year.

Only works authorized by a lecturer / studio supervisor as an urban design or urban development project may be submitted to the competition.

The organizers ask for a portfolio in PDF (prepared for printing in A3 format, maximum 15 pages) and several photos. The submission should include a master drawing with a design scheme and spatial documentation (perspectives, axonometries).

The works can be developed in the native language, the annotation should be in English.

The works will be judged on creativity and methodological approach to solving current urban challenges, the quality of the concept in the broader urban context, urban design and architectural quality, efficiency and feasibility of the project.

The competition proposals are evaluated by an international jury composed mainly of architects and urban planners (a minimum of five people) working outside academia. Competition entries are thus confronted with practice in the field of urbanism and urban planning. The competition's partners are national associations of urban planners (AUUP ČR, MUT, TUP, ZUUPS).

The subject of the competition is to make a design under the theme "In harmony with nature".

The purpose of the competition, organized since 2017 by the City Meble Interior Gallery in Gdansk, is to select the best design from among the submitted works. This year's edition challenges designers to create a "piece of furniture" that supports encounters with nature, in line with the idea and values of the DesignNature brand.

The Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk provides patronage and substantive care for the competition .

terms and conditions

The contest is a one-stage competition and is intended for female and male art students, primarily design and interior design students throughout Poland. The competition is also open to young architects, female architects, designers and designers.

The prerequisite for participation in the competition is the submission of a competition entry including all of the following documents:

• completed and signed application form,
• completed and signed participant's statement,
• design in graphic form.

Only designs that have not participated in other contests may participate in the contest. More than one contest entry can be submitted.

Competition works will be evaluated in terms of:

• correct interpretation of the theme and materials used,

The nationwide competition "Project well laid 2023" is the first edition of the competition, which aims to identify the most interesting visualizations of architectural objects with a proposal for the use of Vjetra® and/or V-Vjetra frima BRUK paving blocks in their external environment.

The competition is open, one-stage and nationwide.

The competition is open to architects, femalearchitects, architects and interior designers, designers and designers, as well as male and female students of faculties related to architecture, interior design or design. However, the organizer does not exclude people who are not professionally engaged in architecture, interior design or design from participating in the competition.

The competition can be participated in individually and in groups.

The task of the competition is to visualize architectural objects along with a proposal for the use of at least one eco-surfacing system made of Vjetra® pavers and/or its V-Vjetra paving options in their external environment, according to the guidelines of the competition.

Each competition task must be submitted as a separate entry through a separate entry form, even if sent by the same person.

Each visualization must meet the following requirements:

• the design must use at least one of the cube ecosystems included in the supporting materials,
• number of shots from 3 to 5 - a general shot including the layout of the cube in the context of the architectural object, at least one general view of the scene from the perspective of a standing person, details of the cube layout,
• the main architectural object of the scene must be the author's design,

The organizer excludes visualizations containing, among other things, montages with photos of objects provided in downloadable photo services.

Attached files should meet the following criteria:

• minimum resolution of 2560×1440 pixels,
• horizontal layout,
• RGB color scheme,
• natural colors (monochrome works are excluded),
• saving files in.jpg or.png format,
• the size of all files must not exceed 50 MB,
• visualizations must not include any logos or watermarks,
• maximum possible photorealism of works.

To enter the contest, you must fill out and submit the entry form[link] and attach the design to the entry form. The form is active for the entire duration of the contest.

The following prizes have been provided for the competition:

• 1st Prize - 15 thousand gross zlotys,
• II Prize - 10 thousand PLN gross,

Must have is a plebiscite organized since 2011 by Łódź Design Festival, honoring the best Polish implementations from Polish designers, designers, manufacturers and producers. It is a free-of-charge quality label that Polish companies can use at home and abroad. It was created to popularize good Polish design and thus promote domestic business and designers.

All applications to the plebiscite are free of charge, and the number of applications is unlimited.

Applications to the plebiscite are accepted both on an individual basis from manufacturers/professional representatives and in the form of product nominations by members of the board of experts.

For a product (collection of products) to be considered for the plebiscite, it must meet two conditions: the manufacturer or designer/design group must come from Poland, and the submitted products must be available for regular sale.

An additional advantage will be the submission of products (or product collections) that are particularly responsive to contemporary consumer needs - they are socially sensitive, are created with concern for resources and do not create waste, care for health or are ideal for the home office.

A new, sixth edition of the "Diploma with Archicad" competition is underway for the best engineering and master's diplomas in the fields of architecture, urban planning, interior design and landscape architecture made with the help of Archicad software from GRAPHISOFT.

The competition aims to promote young, talented architects using the capabilities of BIM software, as well as to encourage male and female students to take advantage of the latest advances in information technology and digital technologies supporting architectural design.

terms and conditions

The competition takes the form of a one-stage, open competition with prizes and is aimed exclusively at male and female students (graduates, underg raduates ) of master's and/or engineering (bachelor's) degree programs in architecture, urban planning, interior design and landscape architecture. The thesis submitted to the competition must be defended between January 1, 2022 and February 28, 2023.

The thesis submitted to the competition must be executed in Archicad at least to the extent that it prejudges the spatial shape of the project. Other programs may be used for complementary and auxiliary purposes, for example, to develop the graphic design of the project, to design details, to prepare schematics, descriptions, to make renderings. The thesis can only be submitted to one edition of the competition.

Application for participation is made only by correctly completing the electronic form available on the competition website.

After submitting the form, the contest participant will receive an automatic e-mail confirming acceptance of the application. The message will contain an automatically assigned individual code. This code should be used to mark all files and folders of the competition work in accordance with the requirements described in the regulations.

When evaluating the competition works, the jury will be guided by the following criteria:

• architectural and urbanistic qualities of the thesis,
• the way of applying the possibilities of the Archicad program of GRAPHISOFT,
• creativity in graphic use of Archicad program capabilities,

The scholarshipfor a debut may be awarded to an applicant who is able to document his/her substantive preparation for the execution of the project and who does not yet have independent, in terms of legal and image, comprehensive, creative realizations of a commercial nature available in the sphere of public reception appropriate to the art discipline.

The scholarship may be awarded for the implementation of a project, exclusively for a creative project. The competition is intended for people who have demonstrated achievements in the field to which the application relates, permanently associated with Krakow through residence, study, professional work or artistic activity.

The condition for participation in the competition is the submission of a correct application for the scholarship.

The application should contain information on the candidate's artistic achievements and education, indicate the field in which the scholarship is to be awarded, include a scholarship program specifying the purpose for which the scholarship is to be used, include substantive justification for the project, and include a plan for implementation of the program.

The application must be accompanied by the following attachments:

• two recommendations with an evaluation of the scholarship project in terms of merit from people with recognized achievements in the field, e.g., an artistic supervisor, a representative of a cultural institution, a creative association, a school, an art college, an organization dealing with the field, or art critics,
• portfolio/documentation of creativity, printouts, photocopies up to a maximum of 20 A4 pages, and possibly additional materials that the Commission may take into account in evaluating the application, materials may be saved on electronic media,

purpose

TheProf. Bohdan Lisowski Creative Scholarship of the SARP Krakow Branch is awarded to particularly talented students of the Faculties of Architecture of Krakow universities, who have successfully completed their third year of studies, obtained an engineering degree and are beginning their master's studies (second degree studies).

The scholarship is awarded in the form of an award to promote young talents. The scholarship is used to enable improvement of creative skills and abilities, as well as to undertake additional education.

terms and conditions

The competition for the scholarship is aimed at male and female students of the Faculties of Architecture of Cracow universities who have completed their bachelor's degree and are beginning their master's degree (second degree studies).

Applicants for the scholarship should submit:

• an application for the scholarship,
• a certificate from the appropriate administrative unit of the Faculty of Architecture on entry to the second degree program,
• a portfolio in A3 format in horizontal layout, with a maximum of 30 pages,
• a CD or USB data carrier with an electronic version of the portfolio.

The scholarship jury, from among the submitted applications, will select 6 nominations, from which it will select the winner and honorable mentions.

The scholarshipcan be awarded to a person once. Each scholarship recipient is required to submit to SARP Krakow Branch (within one month of the end of receiving the scholarship) a substantive report on creative achievements for the period of use of the scholarship.

purpose

The purpose of the Competition is to obtain the best concept in terms of architecture, space and functional-utility, for the modernization and expansion of the RPN Education and Museum Center building, together with land development and an educational path in the "treetops" and a viewing tower in the area indicated in the appendices to the regulations.

The competition is an implementation, unlimited, one-stage competition.

The competition requires the submission of one competition work, and participants may be individuals, legal entities, organizational units without legal personality. Participants taking part in the competition jointly are obliged to establish a proxy authorized to represent them.

The subject of the competition is to create an architectural concept/visualization of the modernization and expansion of the RPN Educational and Museum Center building at 3 Beach Street in Zwierzyniec, together with land development and a path in the "crowns of the trees" and a viewing tower within the boundaries of the competition study, taking into account the indications and conditions specified by the RPN.

The planned task is related to the statutory activities of the Park. The task is oriented towards the ecological effect, the realization of the statutory objectives of the Roztocze National Park, and not the financial profit associated with the operation of the facilities. Tasks implemented in the project are aimed at educational activities and making the park accessible to tourism and promoting the idea of nature conservation.

TheEducation and Museum Center (OEM) was put into operation in 1994, as one of the first in Polish national parks. The increase in tourist traffic, the need to use modern technologies and forms of education, "green technologies", the implementation of new tasks facing national parks, and the decapitalization of infrastructure are forcing the expansion, modernization and adaptation of the OEM to new needs.

Theconstruction of an educational path "in the treetops" in the immediate vicinity of the OEM and the historic part of Zwierzyniec and Echo Ponds is intended to extend the tourist season and increase the attractiveness of the area of lesser natural values, adjacent to the tourist area of Zwierzyniec.

The construction of a tower in Panasówka is a measure aimed at defragmenting tourist traffic and relieving pressure on areas of natural value. Redirecting it, through the development of tourist attractions, to a peripheral area - the Park's buffer zone. The observation tower will provide a glimpse of the disappearing cultural harmonious landscapes of Roztocze in the region's edge zone.

The concept of the project should take into account architectural and communication and information assumptions in the sense of the Act of July 19, 2019 on ensuring accessibility for people with special needs. Each space should allow maximum independent and informed use. It should be accessible and free of architectural barriers, so that all rooms and accompanying facilities are accessible to people in wheelchairs or to people with other dysfunctions.

Detailed design guidelines can be found in Appendix 19.

The maximum planned total cost of completing the project in a finished state, including interior furnishings and landscaping in the scope will not exceed PLN 44,110,000 gross.

The maximum planned total cost of the execution of the object of service on the basis of the selected competition work will not exceed the amount of PLN 210,000 gross.

The competition work must unambiguously indicate spatial, functional, programmatic and other solutions relevant to the idea of the presented concept. In terms of graphics, the competition work must be characterized by the legibility of textual and drawing information.

The work should consist of a graphic part (boards in 100×70 cm format in a horizontal arrangement, in the number of up to 12 pieces) and a descriptive part (up to 32 pages of standard text in A4 format and additionally: a program table of the building, a table of the building parameters, a site balance table, other required by the regulations and law, and boards of the graphic part reduced to A3 format).

The total amount allocated by the organizer for cash prizes and honorable mentions is PLN 70 thousand gross.

The competition provides for the following prizes:

• 1st Prize - 40 thousand zlotys gross, and an invitation to negotiate under a sole-source contract,
• II Prize - 20 thousand PLN gross,
• Third Prize - 10 thousand PLN gross.

The works will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

• aesthetics, quality and innovation of the adopted solutions,
• implementation in relation to the existing building and spatial context,
• functional and utility values of the adopted solutions,
• technical and economic qualities of the adopted solutions.

The goal of the IDEANOVA Foundation, the organizer of the competition, is to stimulate creative imagination and initiate an intellectual experiment realized in the form of an artistically valuable spatial form, responding to the comprehensively understood needs of "thinking man". It is expected from the authors that the proposals for design solutions will be contextually, formally and content-wise adequate to the ideological assumptions of the competition and will serve to "discover" in time perspective, new ideas - useful and enriching the world of general human values.

The subject of the competition "Tourist hostel on the mountain Jeżowa Woda with restaurant and viewing terraces", is to develop an architectural concept of a tourist hostel located in the Beskid Wyspowy, on the mountain Jeżowa Woda. The designed object should be a place of modern character, with a form that looks into the distant future, while remaining in harmony with the surrounding nature. The highest floor should be above the treetops and be visible from all nearby peaks, yet dominate the landscape of the Island Beskid as little as possible.

The project should take into account the preservation of economic rationality, understood as a project to be carried out in the standard technologies currently used or innovative technologies, but at a cost that can be considered common sense for this type of building.

The competition organizer assures that it will make strenuous efforts to commission the Competition winner with a complete project to the extent necessary to obtain a valid building permit, and will make further efforts to obtain funds for the implementation of this project.

The Competition has an open, two-stage character and is organized as part of the cyclical architectural competitions of the IDEANOVA Foundation.

The competition entry must be written in one of the following languages: Polish, English, Italian, French, German or Spanish (this applies to both the drawing and descriptive parts of the competition entries).

The competition is organized for architects, designers, as well as other artists (including university students) and mixed teams (consisting, for example, of the author of the concept and the author of the technical side of the project).

Registration of participants in the competition is carried out via a form on the website and confirmation of acceptance of the application.

The competition is divided into two stages. In the first stage of the competition, participantssubmit competition works, which are their design proposals for the Tourist Hostel facility, accompanied by descriptive documentation, with reference to the clearly specified theme and motif of the competition.

In the second stage , participants selected by the jury after the first stage (a maximum of five projects), after making a "development" of the project, in the form of a three-dimensional visualization and / or in the form of a video file, drawings and a descriptive part, submit it for evaluation. Development is understood as detailing with the necessary construction and material details and possible refinement of the form. At this stage, the organizer provides for the possibility of organizing consultations with the participation of experts and / or members of the Jury. The meeting will be held with full preservation of anonymity of the competition participants.

The Limanowa Municipality has issued legally binding Conditions of Development (WZ) for the construction of the shelter, so the competition concept must be in accordance with them, and meet all the imposed criteria. The investor's idea is to build an object with parameters far exceeding the required minimum specified in the regulations, concerning mountain shelters, while maintaining compliance with the Conditions of Development.

An important element of the concept should be a preliminary visualization of the lighting of the facility itself, as well as the lighting coming from the facility (mainly the highest viewing floor), which will emphasize its artistic vision, but at the same time will not interfere too much with the natural environment and will not create permanent "light pollution."

Theshelter on top of Hedgehog Water must meet the following conditions:

• the maximum number of beds, with the dimensions of the building and individual floors imposed by the GM, but on the other hand, the personal comfort of tourists is important, so there must be a centering of these proportions,
• The project may provide for men's dormitories and women's dormitories or other such solutions, but separate rooms (2- and 3-bed rooms) of the "3 stars +" hotel type must also be designed. Coming up with an innovative system that optimizes living space, but at the same time gives the impression of freedom, will be highly appreciated,
• the project must provide for a public functional kitchen, communal bathrooms and a form of small spa,
• the restaurant area including the kitchen should be suitable for banquets for 120 - 150 people,
• the highest viewing floor, in addition to the obvious viewing function, must also be adapted for cafeteria and restaurant service during banquets (however, assuming that food is transported by elevator (second - cargo) from the kitchen at the main restaurant hall,
• the top viewing floor should have a universal character, that is, it should also have the function of an exhibition hall, designed for meetings and visual (e.g., with the function of a planetarium) or give the possibility of adapting other functions, such as an amateur astronomical observatory. Competition participants may propose other functions,
• the usable height of the top floor must be a minimum of 3.5 m clear,
• the design of additional architectural features of the top floor, such as pivoting, or tilting or sliding roof, glazed floors or terraces, will be an additional advantage in the evaluation, as long as it is economically reasonable.
• it is necessary to design a functional and fast elevator and convenient stairway or ramp communication, meeting the standard fire conditions for buildings of this height, and the requirements for accessibility for people with disabilities,
• innovation of concept would be highly desirable here, due to the main goal of creating a timeless structure, but this must be done while optimizing costs.

It should be emphasized that in the first stage of the competition - the most important is the architectural and artistic vision, based on rational and economic considerations.

OKNOPLAST, in cooperation with the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow MOCAK, is organizing a competition whose theme and field of artistic activity is the window, forming a frame for art. All techniques are allowed: drawing, graphics, painting, mixed technique. However, it is important not to change the original shape of the window.

terms and conditions

The competition has an open, international formula, for which works can be submitted by residents of the European Union.

The competition is open to adult persons: artists, students or graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts. Also invited are those who are professionally engaged in art, running their business and have a portfolio of artistic works.

Works can be created in any technique and using any materials. The submitted work must be made on the window, but without modifying its frame or shape. The artistic project must not involve the destruction of the window - its structure, glass and opening system.

Each participant can submit only one work. Artistic groups or co-authors can also participate in the contest by submitting one work. To participate in the contest, you must submit your work in graphic file format with a maximum size of 20 MB. The submission must include proof of artistic activity by including a portfolio or a link to a website containing the work.

"Saint-Gobain Glass Design Award" is an architectural competition aimed at promoting the use of glass as a basic material used in architecture for years, particularly appreciated for its aesthetic qualities and unparalleled functionality - high light transmission, true color reproduction, thermal insulation and excellent acoustic properties. To participate in the competition, you must submit projects that use Saint-Gobain Glass solutions.

The competition is open to male and female students, designers, designers and architects. Contest entries must be submitted via a dedicated platform available on the contest website until March 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm.

Konkrus consists of creating a conceptual design in the form of a visualization of a space in the field of architecture and/or interior design, orselecting a realized project and documenting it with photo files. The next edition of the international design competition Make me! for young designers at the Lodz Design Festival has been launched.

Purpose

The purpose of the competition is to forecast the most important trends, bold ideas, and support young designers. Held since 2008, the competition is addressed not only to designers, but also to adepts of art and design faculties. Dedicated to all those who are ignited to the design process by an impulse triggered by a perceived need or problem. The competition is open to everyone. The competition is also open to projects created within 3D designs or finished models, provided that a prototype is prepared for the competition exhibition at the Łódź Design Festival.

Conditions

The jury, which will be announced in February 2023, will evaluate the works based on five criteria written in the regulations:

1. Formal evaluation of the design presentation - whether the photos / visualizations clearly show the form of the object and its functions, whether the description is understandable and clearly presents the submitted idea, whether the designer has included additional materials / links / presentations explaining the concept.
2. Originality of the design solution - whether the designer proposed new solutions or significantly changed existing solutions.
3. The accuracy of theimplementation of the assumptions - whether the proposed solutions (form, material, process) accurately respond to the diagnosed problem.
4. Aesthetic qualities of the project - the correctness of the adopted solutions.
5. Market, communication, experimental potential of the project - the project must be characterized by one of the three potentials.
   1. Market (accurately diagnosed market demand, the possibility of production, cost efficiency, conscious use of materials).
   2. Communicative (the project is characterized by high fashion potential, aptly fitting into current trends)
   3. Experimental (proposed solutions can lead to the development of new, innovative products, even if the product is not yet fully tested, its potential to change and replace existing solutions on the market can be diagnosed).

Awards

• First winner - 25,000 PLN gross, a make me! statuette, the opportunity to present the project at a post-competition exhibition and the opportunity to use the make me! logotype.
• Second winner - PLN 15,000 gross, a make me! statuette, the opportunity to present the project at a post-competition exhibition and the opportunity to use the make me! logotype.
• Third winner - PLN 10,000 gross, a make me! statuette, the opportunity to present the project at a post-competition exhibition and the opportunity to use the make me! logo.

The UIA Architecture & Children Work Program Golden Cubes Awards competition is organized by the UIA Architecture & Children Work program. The organizer of the national preliminaries of the competition in the Republic of Poland is the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning.

As we read in the preamble to the regulations - The future will be built by our children. It is important to prepare them for it. Increasing their awareness of the built environment, architecture, urban planning and sustainable development is a priority today. Expanding their knowledge in these areas will enable them to become responsible citizens who will in the future co-create political, economic and social strategies that shape cities and their own surroundings. Tools to increase aesthetic and architectural awareness should be given to children while they are still open-minded and imaginative. Later, they will use them to achieve a balance between reality and their dreams of an ideal space. The Union Internationale des Architectes Architecture & Children Work Program Golden Cubes Awards are designed for those who prepare children and young people for this task. They also help support emerging educational projects. The urgent and fundamental challenge is to imagine what the cities of the future will look like. We should start educating their future creators now.

purpose

The purpose of the competition is to encourage and support those who lay the foundations of architectural culture and help children and young people, from school age to adulthood, to understand architectural processes and the spatial shaping of the built environment. The presentation of the most valuable educational projects is intended to recognize and appreciate the work of educators, animators, popularizers, but above all to create a space for dialogue and exchange of experiences in the subject of architectural education in the broadest sense.

Educators, animators, architects, teachers and representatives of cultural institutions, foundations and associations, as well as people involved in the popularization of architecture and urbanism through various media are invited to participate in the competition. The organizers also encourage presenters of workshops, lessons, classes and publicists and promoters of knowledge to submit their projects.

One of the basic goals of the competition is to increase awareness of architecture, space design, urban planning and sustainable development, and to promote the legitimacy of educating children and young people in these fields. From among the submitted works, the jury will decide the winners of each of the separate categories.

Awards will be presented in four categories:

• Audiovisual media - an award intended for individuals, organizations and institutions working in the field of broadly defined architectural education realized through audiovisual media - documentaries, films, TV programs, audiovisual educational tools, educational materials, websites, social media,
• Publications - an award intended for individuals, organizations and institutions working in the field of broadly defined architectural education realized through print media - creating, publishing and distributing articles, books, magazines and educational tools,
• Institutions - award intended for museums, community centers, non-governmental organizations that individually or in cooperation with other organizations, implement projects in the field of broadly defined architectural education,
• Schools - award intended for educational projects in the field of broadly defined architectural education, implemented by teachers and students. Intended for public and non-public schools offering general education, implementing the Polish core curriculum for the education of children and young people. Art schools are excluded from this category.

The competition is open to projects that were implemented between March 1, 2020 and February 15, 2023.

Individual activities can only be submitted for one Award. On the other hand, a person who, carries out more than one type of activity may submit it separately to each category.

Participants are invited to submit entries describing activities (courses, lessons, events, etc.) or tools (publications, games, kits, guides, films, computer programs, etc.) to educate children and young people about architecture and the built environment.

Projects created specifically for the purpose of the competition and the UIA Architecture & Children Work Program Golden Cubes Awards cannot be submitted.

The awards process consists of two phases: national and international.

In the first phase, each national member section of the UIA participating in the competition will organize a selection process at the national level and nominate one entry in each category for international elimination. In the second phase, an international jury will evaluate the nominated entries and select one UIA Architecture & Children Golden Cubes award in each category.

The winning and honorable mentions from the national stage entries will be shown at an exhibition in Warsaw and published on the website of the National Institute of Architecture and Urbanism.

The awarding of Nominations in each category is tantamount to the awarding of in-kind prizes in the form of statuettes and diplomas to the authors of nominated projects or events, as well as securing participation in an exhibition in Poland in Warsaw and Denmark in Copenhagen.

International process
The International Jury, appointed by the UIA Architecture & Children Work Program, will make a majority decision after receiving applications (nominations) from each of the countries.

The winning and awarded works will be shown at the UIA Architecture & Children Work Program exhibition at the UIA in Copenhagen in July 2023. The award presentation will take place during the 28th UIA Congress "UIA 2023 CPH". The awarded works will be published on the UIA BEE website alongside the jury report. The results will be published in the UIA newsletter and promoted in the international press and media, and published on the website of the National Institute of Architecture and Urbanism.

The competition task is to create an architectural concept for the area of the former Flora market in Jelenia Góra. The aim of the competition is to obtain an architectural concept, the best in terms of program and space, social, environmental and economic aspects, optimally utilizing the potential and conditions of the area , and meeting both the expectations of the local community, as well as fitting in with contemporary trends in urban space design.

The area of the former market is to become a new meeting place for residents and foster the development of centralizing functions in the area.

terms and conditions

The competition is a one-stage, limited competition.

A participant in the competition can be: a natural person, a legal person, an organizational unit without legal personality, both domestic and foreign.

The competition consists of two parts:

• realization - in the form of a public space, including an area of publicly accessible greenery, with possible provision of space for local commerce,
• ideational - used to determine the guidelines for the local zoning plan (it is allowed to propose cubic buildings). It is not planned for implementation, but will serve to determine the guidelines for the local development plan.

The results of the competition will form the basis for public consultations on the future of the former Flora area, will serve to establish the guidelines of the new local development plan for the entire study area; will be implemented in terms of public space.

The study area consists of five plots of land and is located in downtown Jelenia Gora and borders the Old Town to the west. The total area is 1.7212 hectares (more than the Jelenia Góra market). The study area is located at the junction between the well-maintained, invested center of the city and its degraded parts of a more peripheral character, with weak links to the inner city. Among the goals of the competition are to strengthen these links and to select the program in such a way that the new development of the former Flora site becomes a space for the integration of residents.

guidelines for the development of the implementation part

The subject of the project is the redevelopment of the area of the former Flora city market aimed at creating a public modern market with a parking lot and an adjacent attractive recreational green area.

The priority element of the redevelopment of the former Flora site, earmarked for implementation, is a new public space planned foruse for the development of local entrepreneurship, as well as recreation and intergenerational integration. It is up to the contestants to decide on the scale of local commerce possible in the development area and the form of infrastructure provided for this purpose. Acceptable include:

• a paved area serving as a square on a daily basis, with the possibility of occasional use as, for example, a flea market, a place to sell vegetables and fruits from local producers (directly from a delivery truck) or a place for cyclical events held in Jelenia Góra,
• a larger covered area with market counters,
• commercial and service pavilions, including catering, integrated into the greenery.

It is crucial to provide basic technical infrastructure (toilets, points for connecting electricity, running water, etc.). Provision should be made for the space to be multifunctional, allowing for a variety of uses, e.g., the local trade area outside of market days could be a space used for rollerblading/skateboarding or playing basketball (appropriate surfaces should be selected).

The site is to foster intergenerational integration, including providing both opportunities for relaxation, which includes observing urban life, and active recreation. The green area should include greenery of varying height and character, including evergreens. The concept can refer to the site's past - baroque ornamental gardens, but also local plant cultivation (understood today as urban gardening) and trade in local products. Greenery should provide shade in summer, as well as prevent heat islands and introduce a healthy microclimate. It is necessary to provide shaded areas (with buildings, trees or elements of public space furnishings), but at the same time it is recommended to maintain a well-sunlit part of the area.

It is permissible to introduce water-related development elements, such as fountains or ponds, while it is advisable to integrate them into the landscaping as part of the blue-green infrastructure system (rain gardens, retention ditches, etc.) and to choose solutions that do not generate excessive maintenance costs.

The space must be accessible to all, especially to residents representing every age group, health status and social status. It is not permissible to provide only "paid" seating (in food gardens).

The space should include, among other things, the following equipment and furnishings:

• a street water dispenser with drinking water,
• a public toilet,
• benches that meet accessibility requirements (with armrests and backrests),
• informal seating areas,
• bicycle racks,
• a toilet for dogs.

guidelines for the development of the ideational part

The ideational part includes the development of the entire development area and may provide for development. Although conservation recommendations do not include larger cubic objects except for pavilions referring to the site's past, they can be included in the competition concept (idea part). The development is to be the background, defining the spatial framework of the new public space and greenery. It should be planned with respect for the architectural and urban heritage of Jelenia Góra.

Since the former Flora area is an intermediate zone between the very center of the city and the degraded part of the downtown, it should be developed in such a way that it does not constitute a barrier, but allows integration of these areas. It should be assumed that in the future, due to its attractive location, low-intensity industrial buildings located south of the study area, within the urban quarter, may be replaced by investments of a downtown character. The concepts proposed by the competition participants should take into account this condition and allow freedom of development and land use on these plots.

It is recommended to establish services in the first floors and link them to the designed public space. Service premises should be planned as flexible, capable of assuming various functions: both commercial (stores, service outlets) and public (e.g. library, nursery, senior citizen's club, community activity center). On the upper floors, both service functions (offices, accommodation functions, other services) and residential functions are allowed. It is recommended to plan a mix of centralizing functions typical of downtowns.

Parking spaces integrated with the function, possibly street parking spaces. It is necessary to plan spaces for persons with a parking card, in a number not less than that prescribed by law, conveniently located in relation to the functions proposed in the study area. Given the frequent illegal and chaotic parking in urban commercial areas, it is necessary to propose architectural solutions integrated into the concept to prevent this negative phenomenon. However, the introduction of posts should be avoided, using other landscaping and amenities. The parking ratios specified in the current Study should be applied, while it is permissible to establish a certain number of additional public parking spaces. It is recommended to provide parking in underground garage halls. Particular attention should be paid to their extent in relation to the contours of the planned buildings to allow for tree plantings in the planned public space.

It isnecessary to provide bicycle parking spaces. It is recommended to ensure security, among other things, with the help of neighborhood watch and general "Secured by Design" principles.

It is important that the operating costs of the implementation part of the competition be as low as possible. It is recommended to integrate economic and pro-environmental goals in this regard (e.g., use of energy-efficient lighting fixtures, flower meadows instead of lawns requiring regular maintenance, etc.).

The project should include environmentally, socially and economically sustainable solutions, including those that combat climate change:

• an emphasis on the use of sustainable modes of transportation, especially walking and cycling,
• selection of a program and form allowing the development of downtown Jelenia Gora in accordance with the concept of a fifteen-minute city,
• use of the advantages of the plot to, among other things, provide the possibility of passive or energy-efficient construction (compact blocks, location on the plot in relation to the sides of the world),
• use of renewable and environmentally friendly building materials,
• retention of rainwater on their own land,
• avoiding the formation of heat islands, ensuring the maintenance of the health and comfort of users, including those with special needs, i.e., providing shaded rest areas, among other things,
• preventing social exclusion and working toward achieving a so-called social mix (e.g., by combining public and private housing within the concept, or, for example, ideas for forms of multi-generational housing),
• proposing the use of alternative sources of energy, such as photovoltaic cells (as a solution to be later agreed upon by the conservation services due to possible exposure in the conservation zone),
• energy-efficient light sources and no light pollution,
• others, to be clarified in the competition concept.

There are three prizes in the competition, and their value is PLN 50 thousand.

• First Prize - PLN 35 thousand and an invitation to negotiate a sole-source contract for the following service
  elaboration of a more detailed competition work, elaboration of a functional-utility program for a separated fragment of the site, guidelines for a new local zoning plan and performance of other tasks
• Second Prize - PLN 10 thousand,
• Third Prize - PLN 5 thousand.

"Paradyż Designers" is the second edition of the competition organized by Ceramika Paradyż, a Polish ceramic tile manufacturer held under the auspices of the Association of Polish Architects SARP and the Association of Interior Designers SAW.

Its goal, as emphasized by the organizers, is conscious and sustainable design, creative use of structures and colors, creative approach to small formats, and above all, individual conception of a timeless interior using ceramic tiles from the "Neve Creative by Maja Ganszyniec" collection.

"Neve Creative is a collection built on a small white square. He is the foundation of modular geometry, which, together with a palette of natural colors and varied textures, allows you to create individualized solutions. This collection is a tool that I put in the hands of creative people. I'm sure I'll see surprising solutions, corresponding to the sensitivity and personal outlook of the participants." - says Maja Ganszyniec, chairwoman of the jury.

The organizers of the second edition of the "Paradyż Designers" competition focus on an unconventional and creative approach to the entire design process. The competition task is to create a 3D visualization depicting the arrangement of any interior with an area of up to 80 m², necessarily using the Neve Creative collection and optionally other floor and wall tiles from the full range of Paradyż brand.

The competition is open only to people who are professionals in the profession of an architect, interior designer, designer, interior decorator, as well as male and female university students majoring in architecture or interior design. Each person can submitan unlimited number of works.

purpose

The purpose of the competition is to obtain a comprehensive artistic and spatial concept of the exhibition, corresponding to the best available extent to the function and social rank of the organizer's branch - the Museum of the Battle of Warsaw 1920, corresponding to the design guidelines and financial assumptions of the organizer and ensuring the realization of the social mission of the Museum of the Polish Army in Warsaw.

The competition is a limited, one-stage, realization competition, in which the prizes are cash awards and an invitation to the author(s) of the selected competition work to negotiate a sole-source contract to perform a service based on the competition work.

The maximum planned total cost of implementing the exposition should not exceed the amount of PLN 30 million gross.

The competition is divided into a qualification stage (submission of applications for admission to the competition and invitation by the organizer to submit competition works) and stage II (submission of works, evaluation, competition settlement).

Exhibition assumptions

The scenario of the permanent exhibition at the Museum of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 should be characterized by an attempt to reconcile the traditional exhibition system with contemporary trends of transferring the narrative to the digital world. Accordingly, the visitor should be able to discover the content on their own through interaction and experience.

The exhibition will be designed to tell the story of the Battle of Warsaw 1920, arising from the context of the struggle of the Polish nation with its eastern neighbor to maintain statehood or periodic uprisings, building statehood after the period of partition in the following areas: political, military, local government, social, seen also through the prism of international contacts with countries with friendly, neutral or hostile attitudes towards Poland. For the organizers, it is important to maintain chronology, exposing the most important events of international and, in some cases, local importance.

The exhibition will feature three-dimensional monuments, as well as two-dimensional monuments with preservation rules.
It will be complemented by replicas and copies of the monuments, which the WP Museum has in limited numbers. The exhibition will be complemented by multimedia to convey additional content.

The purpose of the exhibition will be:

• arouse interest in the subject of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 - both from a military, political and regional perspective,
• promote the idea that it was the "18th decisive battle in the history of the world" that stopped the expansion of communism in Europe for two decades,
• education with emphasis on emotional acquisition of knowledge,
• promotion of state-building attitudes, cooperation across differences, personal sacrifice,
• promoting the history of Ossow,
• promoting the tourist attractions of Mazovia, Podlasie, Pomerania, Lublin.

The competition for the permanent exhibition includes the design of two floors: 1st floor and staircase and 2nd floor.
The exhibition will require a variety of display cases in terms of form, resulting from the conditions of use. Showcases for museum artifacts must be adapted to the exhibition and meet conservation requirements.

A list of significant musealia or their copies for inclusion in the exhibition is available in Appendix No. 6a.

The competition "It's worth living here" is a one-stage, student study and concept competition.

The purpose of the competition is to select the best creative concepts for creating public space, including green areas, taking into account its comprehensive functional-spatial, communication, cultural, natural, landscape and composition conditions, as well as social needs. Concepts should present future-oriented (phased) solutions that are realistic to implement.

The organizers of the competition are: Foundation for the Development of the City of Poznań, Wielkopolska Branch of the Association of Polish Landscape Architects, UWI Inwestycje.

Honorary patronage of the competition was assumed by Bartosz Guss - Deputy Mayor of the City of Poznań, Prof. Wojciech Hora - Rector of the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznań, Prof. Teofil Jesionowski - Rector of Poznań University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Szoszkiewicz - Rector of Poznań University of Life Sciences.

The subject of the competition is to develop a concept for the development of the Wildeckie Błonia area, bounded by Królowej Jadwigi, Droga Dębińska, Fr. Mariana Żelazka and Dolna Wilda streets.

The competition is open to those studying at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznan, Poznan University of Technology or Poznan University of Life Sciences.

Competition works can be carried out individually or in teams of up to three people.

The concept for the development of the area should enable the creation of an attractive, generally accessible and multifunctional public space for recreation of residents. The designs should respond to contemporary environmental problems and promote mitigation.

The concept should take into account:

• spatial, natural, landscape and functional connections of the study area with its immediate surroundings and with the greenery system of Poznan and the urban structure of the city,
• the provisions of the current study of Poznań and the local zoning plan,
• conservation guidelines,
• environmental conditions (hydrographic, ground, habitat, climatic conditions),
• restrictions arising from existing and planned transportation solutions, including indication of locations of pedestrian crossings and traffic calming elements and organization of bicycle traffic,
• constraints arising from existing and planned elements of technical infrastructure,
• constraints arising from the existing and projected structure of ownership and land ownership,
• existing program and design studies for the area (including: the municipal revitalization program, draft local development plans for neighboring areas, multi-variant concept for changes in traffic organization),
• guidelines resulting from the participants' meetings with the staff of the UMP and relevant city institutions and thematic workshops,
• the need to create space to serve different groups of users,
• protection of existing valuable greenery complexes,
• the way and form of reference to the history and identity of the place,
• ensuring a consistent image and form of development elements of the study area (including paving, lighting, small architecture, etc.),
• the possibility of using pro-environmental solutions (small-scale retention, increasing the biologically active area, improving the local climate, using recycled materials or sustainable manufacturing),
• the possibility of staging the implementation works.

Participants in the competition are required to submit works consisting of two parts: graphic and text.

The graphic part should include:

• schemes of functional-spatial, communication, historical-cultural and compositional connections,
• conceptual sketches, graphic diagrams illustrating the author's concepts,
• concept of development of the study area on a scale of 1:2000,
• relevant cross-sections and selected fragments of the area, at appropriately selected scales,
• visualizations necessary to convey the essence of the concept,
• an abbreviated description of the idea (the main assumptions of the project) and textual information explaining the design solutions.

The descriptive part should include:

• ideological and programmatic assumptions,
• description of land development and equipment,
• description of applied functional, compositional and technical solutions.

prizes

The Competition Jury will award three winning works:

• 1st prize - a diploma of recognition and a study trip,
• Second prize - a diploma of recognition and PLN 5,000,
• Third prize - a diploma of recognition and PLN 3,000.

The competition works will be evaluated according to the following substantive criteria, along with the importance of these criteria:

• quality of spatial and landscape solutions including public space and green areas,
• inclusion in the cultural, environmental, historical and spatial context,
• attractiveness and aesthetics of solutions,
• efficiency and legibility of communication solutions,
• fulfillment of the organizers' guidelines specified in the competition regulations.

The City of Poznań has announced a competition recommended by the Association of Polish Architects for an urban planning concept for the development of the Edmund Szyc Stadium and adjacent areas in Poznań. Among other things, the quality of the connection with the urban tissue, the attractiveness of the proposed urban-architectural solutions, the value of the natural and climatic solutions and the use of historical and cultural values of the area will be important in the evaluation of the works. The goal of the competition, as we read in the regulations, is to obtain the best sustainable programmatic and spatial solution for the area after the Edmund Szyc Stadium in Poznań using natural natural conditions, because, as the organizers explain, the natural changes that have taken place in the area covered by the competition undermine the validity of the provisions of the current planning documents for the area.

The purpose of the competition, as we read in the regulations, is to promote innovative architectural solutions in exhibition and event activities, and to promote high-quality services in the design and/or implementation of expositions at trade fairs and events, and their contractors.

The Leszno District Museum, in cooperation with the Poznan branch of the Association of Polish Architects, has announced a competition for the modernization and reconstruction of the corner two-story building of the Old Octarium for the purpose of arranging a new museum building in its spaces.

purpose

The purpose of the competition, as we read in the regulations, is to select the concept for the spatial arrangement in the center of Leszno and to obtain the best architectural, spatial, functional-utility and composition concept for the new headquarters of the District Museum combined with the renovation of the existing building of the Old Octownia - taking into account the context of the existing surroundings - in the material, cultural and social sense.

The museum building, according to the assumption of the organizers, should have an interestingly solved function, and at the same time be an exceptional building, beautiful and strongly associated with the place, a new sign of the city.

The competition is a one-stage, limited competition.

The subject of the competition is the execution of a coherent, comprehensive urban-architectural and functional-utilitarian concept for the modernization and reconstruction of the Old Octownia building, together with its expansion for the needs of the District Museum, located in the center of Leszno, at Jana Pawła II Avenue - one of the main thoroughfares of the city - and Bolesława Chrobrego Street with a quiet character.

The planned investment should become a city and cultural center, provide proper conditions for employees and museum collections, be accessible to people with disabilities, and include public functions, such as a store or café. As the organizers of the competition emphasize, the building should aim for energy neutrality as much as possible, be an example of sustainable development and be part of the zero waste trend.
