The eagerly awaited autumn installment of the Festival of Open Architecture Studios, a companion event to the Open Eyes Economy Summit (November 22-23), is coming. This year we will visit offices in Poznań, the Tri-City and New York! Are you curious about whose work we will approach this time?

It's time for the seventh installment of the FOPA festival. Organized by A&B since 2018, the event will once again allow us to peek into the nooks and crannies of the best design offices in Poland and around the world, take a look at the daily work of the architects and architects who create in them, and become an opportunity to ask live questions about the architectural profession and the activities of the studios. All meetings will be broadcast live on A&B's YouTube channel and Facebook page. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the meeting.

This year we will visit three unique offices:

Ultra Architects
November 24, 1 pm

The motto of the Poznan-based studio, founded in 2004 by Marcin Kościuch and Tomasz Osięgłowski, is the words of Czech architect Jan Kaplicki - "It's not important how many tons of "concrete" you use in life, it's important how." And they definitely know how to do it! Only in recent years, the realizations of the team from Ultra Architects studio have won numerous industry awards - in the category of Multi-family Residential Building in the 2nd edition of the competition for the Architectural Award of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship or the Prize of the City of Poznań named after Jan Baptista Quadro in 2016 for the Office Building Za Bramką, inscribed in the historic fabric of the city.

You can read more about the studio here.

The team also edited one of the issues of A&B - we recommend reading issue 12/2020.

November 25, 1 pm

MAARTE is a team of exceptional architects from the Tricity, who, as they write themselves - design humanely and for people.

Founded in 2008 by Marek Łańcucki (a Fulbright Foundation scholar!), the studio-laboratory operates in Sopot, creating extraordinary architecture throughout the country. Their best showcase is the Botanica Estate in Gdansk, which has been showered with a rain of industry awards of the highest caliber (Award Winner in the international competition European Property Awards 2020-2021, the title of "Most Interesting Residential Development 2019", the awards of "Green Building Awards 2019" and "Building of the Year 2019").

Only If

November 28, 3 pm

Only If is a design studio founded by Karolina Częczek and Adam Frampton, based in New York and Poland. So during FOPY we will move across the ocean to look at the work of the architects, who gained their professional experience over the years at Rem Koolhaas' world-renowned OMA studio. Founded in 2013, the office has taken the global architectural market by storm - in 2018 it was the winner of the New Practices New York competition for the most interesting design offices in New York, in 2020 DOMUS magazine honored Only If as one of the50 most interesting young design offices in the world, and in June this year the architects received the Design Vanguard award, given by Architectural Record for the most interesting young architectural offices in the world!

You can read more about the studio here.

The Festival of Open Architect ural Offices is a great opportunity to see from behind the scenes what goes on every day in architectural offices and personally ask the architects working in them about issues of interest to us. It will be the same this year - we invite you to the autumn edition of FOPY and the OEES congress. See you there!
