Mobility in architecture

12 of December '19

On December 5, an unusual exhibition of projects by the KWK Promes studio arrived in Krakow from Berlin. What is so special about it? Do you remember the formerly popular three-dimensional postcards, on which, depending on what angle you looked at, the image changed? It is precisely this effect, on a much larger than postcard scale, that was used in the "Moving / Unmoving" exhibition!

The exhibition, which can be seen at the GAGA Architecture Gallery in the Malopolska Garden of Art in Krakow until December 31 this year, presents those projects by Robert Konieczny and the KWK Promes studio, in which mobility plays one of the main roles.

On the sizable boards with photos, viewers can observe how individual elements move in such projects as Safe House, Konieczny's Ark, Quadrant House and Szczecin's Centre for Dialogue Przełomy. But it's not all about fun! Each project is also accompanied by a brief description and technical drawings that allow you to better understand the object and the idea behind it.

The exhibition is complemented by a film in which Robert Konieczny talks about his ideas, projects, fascination with mobility and innovative solutions used in individual projects. Visitors to the exhibition will also be treated to a magazine published by the GAGA Architecture Gallery with an extensive, "honest to goodness" conversation between Dawid Hajok and Robert Konieczny.
