Film stories at the Museum of Photography. A series of meetings "Man with a camera"

15 of December '20

One of the branches of the Cracow Museum of Photography, with which A&B is starting a permanent cooperation, is located in an old villa at 16 Józefitow Street. In this place, just after the war, operated the so-called Cracow Pre-Film School, the first post-war film teaching institution, whose students were later outstanding creators of Polish cinema.

See what the reconstruction of the MuFo headquarters on Józefitow Street looked like:

The cinematic history of the villa prompted the Museum of Photography to create a new series of meetings devoted to a wide range of issues related to the cinematic image - from inspiration, theory, production techniques, artistic methods and philosophical issues. The topics discussed during the event will be explored in depth through film commands illustrating the issues discussed. The series is made up of meetings with filmmakers and cinematography specialists.

Already on December 16 at 18:00 there will be another, third meeting of the series "Man with a Camera", this time devoted to the career of Jolanta Dylewska, an outstanding cinematographer, screenwriter and director.

Among others, Dylewska is the author of cinematography for Mariusz Grzegorzek's films: "Conversation with a Man from the Closet" (1993), "Queen of Angels" (1999), Przemysław Wojcieszek's "Louder than Bombs" (2001), Sergei Dvortsevoy: "Tulpan" (2008), "Ajka" (2018) and Agnieszka Holland: " In Darkness " (2011), "Pokot" (2017), as well as director of documentaries , including"Po-lin. Crumbs of Memory" (2008), "Marek Edelman ...and There Was Love in the Ghetto" (2019, directorial collaboration with Andrzej Wajda). For her cinematography in "In Darkness" she was awarded the Golden Frog at the Camerimage festival. The cinematographer will be interviewed by film scholar Iwo Sulka about her first film experiences, her studies at the Lodz Film School, her cooperation with Mariusz Grzegorzek and Agnieszka Holland.

The online broadcast will be available on Facebook and MuFo's Youtube channel.
