Work submitted to the Halina Skibniewskaya student competition - HEALTHYHOUSE

The recreation site was created to give a new quality of life to people addicted to all kinds of receivers. According to the latest study "life in front of the screen" even before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Internet was used a little over 6 hours a day, in the era of the pandemic it was already 10 hours and 26 minutes. After many consultations with specialists and a broader study of the subject, it was decided to design a place where: network activity, will be directed to another activity such as physical. The idea is to use for this beautiful place in nature and all its assets, and to find an activity that will be related to it.

The aim of the project was also to provide the basic functions of life, and the emerging urban form, living in harmony with nature, is to take advantage of the already existing forms, minimally interfere with nature while respecting the landscape and fitting perfectly into its atmosphere. The seasonal house will be designed for a family of four.

Following these guidelines, the resulting site was set at the end of the small village of Krasnybór in the Biebrza National Park, which is surrounded by meadows and forest on the horizon. It was designed from prefabricated wooden modules and set onsurefootmodular foundations.

The resulting two buildings, form a small atrium, which, thanks to its suitable location on the plot, will be enveloped by the southwest sun all the time. In this case, solar panels can also be used here.

The space has been divided into 3 zones: living, utility and living room. The rooms are equipped with the basic elements, without compromising the comfort of the users. Instead of TVs, windows were designed to let in natural light, and the view behind them functions as a natural movie. The veranda, which can be opened completely, is designed to connect with nature even in inclement weather. On cool autumn evenings, it has thought about electric heating.

The functional program of the living area is equipped with a place for a bonfire and an orchard, which, with the help of strongly acting nature, is supposed to meet the fight against addictions, improve interpersonal relations and strengthen family ties. The causal activity - working in the garden - will not only help with habits that have been ingrained for years, but also soothe people's senses. Between the fruit trees, pergolas with hanging beds were designed to rest in the shade of the trees and be able to spend the night enjoying the scents of nature.

The economic zone was given a kitchen, designed for apple products

The economic zone has been provided with a kitchen, intended for apple products and shared family cooking. With the products in mind, a pantry and a temperature-controlled room for making cider have been thought out. A large storage room is designed to hold all the things used during the season. The cellar for fresh fruit, consequently, was designed from a module, which is a cistern, or more precisely from its half.

In keeping with the idea of blending into the landscape, the modules on the sides, including the retaining walls, were backfilled with earth, covered with green roofs, resulting in two hills. One of them was covered with lavender, while the other was covered with grasses and surrounding vegetation. Lavender as a cure for insomnia - one of the effects of overuse - also repels mosquitoes, and in a place like the meadow it would work well. The simplified feature creates an ascetic interior with bright colors, which creates a passepartout for the seasonally changing colors of the surrounding greenery, and the only decoration is natural chiaroscuro. The lack of decoration is an obvious solution, as it affirms what is true value and beauty. The numerous glazing and the space composed in the open air is meant to induce a strong biophilia. There is a strong contrast of a quiet, peaceful interior - with wild, uncontrolled nature.

To sum up, in this space the main character is nature and its healing properties, and its idea is to correlate the interior with the outdoors in the open air and, most importantly, with the human interior. Sustainability measures were used to realize the concept.
