Voting for the Audience Award - Best Interior Design Diploma - in the "Young Interior Designers 2024" competition.

We encourage you to vote for the Audience Award - Best Interior Design Diploma, submitted to the "Young Interior Designers 2024" competition. The competition is organized by the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznan. To indicate your favorite, just cast your vote - you can vote only once, for one project*.Voting lasts from December 13 , 2024 to January 5, 2025at 11:59 p.m. The author of the work with the highest number of votes will receive a diploma and a one-year subscription to A&B magazine.

Seven Art Universities in Poland participated in the competition: Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznan, Academy of Art in Szczecin, Faculty of Interior Design and Scenography, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Academy of Fine Arts im. Jan Matejko in Krakow, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz.

The competition coordinators at each of the units selected the two best diplomas in interior design. There were 14 diplomas in the finals.

The jury, consisting of Dr. Anna Regimowicz-Korytowska - Chairperson, Dean of WAWiS, Dr. Emilia Cieśla-Jarzębowska- Dean of WAWiS, Tomasz Desko - Representative of Grupa Mo company, Justyna Zajc - Representative of Zajc kuchnie company, Konrad Młynarski - Representative of I-mar company and prof. Eugeniusz Matejko awarded three prizes and one honorable mention. You can learn the results of the competition on our portal.

The TLOU Elephant Assistance Center project, located in Botswana's Okavango Delta, is an innovative approach to the conservation of African elephants and their habitat, including utility buildings, an enclosure and areas for elephant convalescence. The center promotes ecotourism, volunteerism and local economic development, offering tourists the opportunity to get involved in conservation and raise awareness about environmental protection.

"Variable Realities Pavilion" is a place combining aesthetic interiors with a neutral space for virtual reality, created through a multi-stage design process inspired by literature and art of the teamLab collective. The project responds to the need to immerse oneself in unreality, offering artists and viewers a chance for creative expression and to experience multimedia art in an almost tangible way.

The service and exhibition pavilion in Leba, located at the entrance to the beach, is a contemporary interpretation of local architecture, inspired by the history of the city and its coastal climate, intended to draw attention to the devastation of the identity of the place and logging. Using planes and chiaroscuro, the project proposes a new approach to the found space, where the surrounding walls of the high forest mark the boundaries and create a unique atmosphere.

The exhibition "New Look: Ceramics of the 1950s and 1960s" at the Center for Unique Ceramics on the grounds of the Old Mine in Walbrzych was designed according to the principles of a modern museum, offering a visually calm space and interactive elements such as focus troughs, haptic and educational zones. The tour ends with a walk around the ceramics studio, which ties the narrative from the object through the creative process to its beginning, creating a cohesive and innovative whole.

The project combines the dark nature of the fairy tale of Rapunzel, as written down by the Brothers Grimm, with elements of pop culture, adapting them for a computer game in terms of both aesthetics and functionality. In this version, Rapunzel is a deity whose hair gives light in a dark land, and the monumental tower above the Gothic cathedral, set in a dark valley surrounded by mountains, emphasizes the harshness and mystery of the game world.

The design of the interiors of a guesthouse in a historic building from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries in Lowicz is based on the identity of the place, drawing inspiration from folklore, legends, traditions and characteristic details of the town and village. The interiors combine regionality and decorativeness with minimalism, using a calm color palette with touches of intense colors to suit both historical values and the demands of modern tourists.

The "Beyond Comfort" project is a lunar architecture concept, using lava tunnels as a shield and combining subtractive and additive architecture to create a sustainable living space on the moon. The project concerns the creation of a resilience space next to an oncology hospital, providing patients and their loved ones with psychological comfort and support in the treatment process. The design of the "Nordic Eden" school is based on research on youth development and inspiration from Nordic architecture, using natural materials, muted colors and glazing that connects the interiors to the surrounding nature. The master's thesis presents a futuristic concept of a Virtual Space Lab research station designed to analyze water from planets in the context of life and water purification and processing. The concept of the nursing home focuses on the authenticity and individuality of the residents, trying to include their identity in the space they live in. The aim of the project was to implement innovative technologies and solutions in the spaces of the Lower Silesian Oncology Center to increase the comfort and efficiency of treatment for oncology patients. The project focuses on a psychological approach that improves the well-being of patients, as well as on creating an atmosphere conducive to health and recovery, which inspires changes in the design of medical spaces.


* Voting lasts until January 5, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Only one vote is allowed per work participating in the voting for the People's Choice Award.
