"Improvised Arrangements" is a unique story about art with music in the background. The spacious foyer of the building of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice until June 26 combines several artistic disciplines, exploring rhythm and harmony, contrasting ephemerality with permanence.

The exhibition "Improvised Arrangements" is the fruit of cooperation between Bożena Sacharczuk, artist, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, creator of sensual, ceramic forms, and Tomasz Konior, architect, designer of the NOSPR edifice clad in brick, and therefore ceramic "skin". How does the dialogue between architectural space and art proceed in this temple of music?

The exhibition of Bozena Sacharczuk's works brings an element of warmth and sensuality to the interiors. Formed in clay, the unusual shapes surprise with their lightness and dynamics. The presented objects resemble forms known from nature as if grown from the ground or shaped by wind and water. At the same time, they show precision and attention to detail. The iridescent textures respond to movement and light. [...] Music seems to dance in these forms. Or are these shapes born of music? The exhibition of ceramics at the NOSPR is not only a presentation of individual pieces, but also a thoughtful, multithreaded composition that engages the entire space
- says Tomasz Konior.

The inspiration for the ceramic, visually soft forms turned on a potter's wheel was, as the architect noted, music.
Abstract sounds build arrangements of tones, while visual rhythms and structures create melodic strings. Improvisation, both in music and in art, is the key to revitalizing the imagination and building new forms
- explains Bozena Sacharczuk.

The presented works of art even decorate the space of the monochromatic foyer in a painterly manner, like brushstrokes or improvised sounds they take various forms, gently flowing in the direction chosen by the artist - vertically, horizontally or circularly. The apparent softness of the fired clay, thanks to the spun forms created by the movements of Bozena Sacharczuk's hands, contrasts with the geometric cuboids of the bricks on the facades of the building, showing how different faces one material can take on.

Ceramics combines two elements: earth and fire. These opposing worlds give rise to the dual nature of solidified matter. The first is massive, rough, raw. The second - ephemeral, immaterial, sensual. Craft and art. The boundary is blurring. Now we can experience both in one place. Art. Ceramic alchemy, on the one hand creates massive architecture, on the other - sensual fragile sculpture. It is a meeting of two worlds that interact, complement and enrich each other. Particularly intriguing is the juxtaposition of raw, architectural form with the delicacy and fluidity of ceramic arrangements
- adds the architect.
