VELUX invites architecture students to participate in the 9th edition of the largest international competition International VELUX Award 2020. Show off your creativity, prepare a project inspired by daylight and win valuable prizes! Become the architect of the future!
The deadline for registration is April 1, 2020
- You can enter the competition individually or in teams
- The team may also include students from other majors
- Each student or team entering the competition should have a scientific supervisor
- Registration is a condition for participation in the competition
Excellent jury
The students' works will be judged by a world-renowned jury, chaired by renowned French architect Odile Decq.

- Martin Pors Jepsen - vice president of Global Product Management at VELUX (Denmark)
Valuable prizes
- The total prize pool is 30,000 euros. Prizes are awarded to students and research supervisors.
- The global competition will be settled and the winners will be presented at the World Architecture Festival.
The theme of the competition - the role of daylight in architecture
Works can be submitted in two categories: "Natural light in buildings" and "Research onnatural light".
Schedule of the competition
- April 1, 2020: closing of online participant registration
- June 15, 2020: deadline for submission of projects
- July 2020: announcement of regional winners
- December 2020: announcement of global winners
