Ahead of us is the 10th anniversary edition of the Open Eyes Economy Summit, a congress on the economy of value, to be held on November 18 and 19 this year in Krakow. As the organizers - the GAP Foundation - emphasize, it promises to be the strongest program in the history of the event. What will we find in it?

The event at the ICE Congress Center will open with a speech by Professor Jerzy Hausner, the initiator of the Open Eyes Economy movement - "Value vs. greed " - a reflection on how responsibility and credibility can restore trust in the economy. Why is this so important?
Economic and social development is based on the broad economic credibility of the state. Its low value, not only in the area of public finances or fiscal policy, but also with regard to the quality of public policies and the labor market, makes countries more vulnerable to crises. Poland is still not using its full potential, and in a number of areas we see room for improvement. Building economic credibility today is a condition for further development

What we have learned about Poland this year will once again be discussed by Antoni Dudek, historian and political scientist, and Jarosław Flis, sociologist and political commentator, while representatives of opposing political groups - Krzysztof Bosak, Speaker of the Polish Sejm, and Magdalena Biejat, Speaker of the Polish Senate - will face off in a skirmish on immigration.

Scheduled debates and sessions with opinion leaders, academics, politicians, entrepreneurs and culture makers will focus on key challenges of today, including urban and housing issues. What's next for housing policy will be discussed by Marek Bryx (Warsaw School of Economics), Rudolfs Cimdins (University of Latvia & Riga Planning Region), Aldona Machnowska-Góra (Deputy Mayor of Warsaw), Maria Klaman (Deputy Mayor of Krakow) and Aleksandra Stępniak (Velux). There will also be discussions on the colonization of space ("Opportunity for humanity or dangerous utopia?"), who should shape urban housing space ("Public or private?") and whether we can afford the right to live at all.

The event will bring together representatives of the government and Poland's largest companies for the tenth time. This year's participants will include Andrzej Domanski, Minister of Finance and Economy, Maciej Lasek, Government Plenipotentiary for the CPK. CPK, Paulina Piechna-Więckiewicz from the Ministry of National Education, Bartosz Dominiak from the Ministry of Digitization, Aleksandra Gajewska, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, as well as Ireneusz Fąfara, President of Orlen, Dariusz Marzec, President of the Polish Energy Group, Mirosław Czekaj, President of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Michał Obiegała, President of bp in Poland, and Marina Dubakina, President of IKEA Retail in Poland.

The economy of value is also culture - a driver of development. The anniversary edition of OEES will be accompanied by a unique concert "SPLOTS . A Musical History of Poland" featuring Natalia Szroeder, Igor Herbut, Grzegorz Turnau, Joanna Slowinska and Jan Emil Mlynarski, under the musical direction of Stanislaw Slowinski. The concert will take place on November 17 at ICE Krakow as part of the Open Eyes Art Festival, an artistic celebration of the idea of the economy of values.
