A place that looks like it came out of the hand of a skilled confectioner has been created in Skórzew near Poznan. Jelly, chocolate and fluffy cream seem to fill the sunken in pink icing interior of the artistic cake studio "Without Raisins", the design of which was created in the Poznan studio mode:lina™. Someone will say: oversweetened! However, is this really an accusation?
Although "Without Raisins" - previously known as "something sweet" - has been in operation since at least 2019, the iced masterpieces have been created all these years mainly at the home of the confectionery's owner. In 2025, however, the time has come for the cake studio to finally put Skórzewo on the map. A space designed with taste was created in a small, two-story pavilion at 80 Poznańska Street, right next to a newly built housing development.

The building itself, which is probably a coincidence, looks as if it was built from chocolate bars. The author of the concept for its interior is Kinga Kin, associated with the Poznan-based mode:lina studio. She developed the project together with its founders Jerzy Wozniak and Pawel Garus.

The starting point of the project was the world of sweets. The designer took the cake apart, translating cream borders, decorations and jellies into design language. These motifs return in the interior as a rhythm of stucco, rounded profiles and repetitive details.

sweetness in shades of pink
As the owner of the Bez Rodzynek confectionery reveals on social media, her favorite color is pink. So the choice of the theme for the design of the Leatherwood cake shop had to be obvious.
The entire interior was immersed in a single, warm shade of pink. This monochromatic treatment organizes the space and allows us to focus on textures and proportions.

with jelly!
The centerpiece of the interior is a counter with a display case for baked goods, located opposite the main entrance to the establishment. From the front, its two-tier structure consists of three rows of glass blocks, on which a massive countertop has been placed. Its surface was finished using tiles with a terrazzo-like pattern with a contrasting, graphic design, reminiscent of crushed chocolate. The same material was also found on the floor of the Skórzewska confectionery.

The choice of foxholes forming the base of the counter is also not accidental. In the interior of the confectionery shop Without Raisin, the glass blocks come in several patterns - their surfaces are alternately slightly wavy, covered with stripes or a fine geometric pattern, or filled with a circular seam. According to the designers, the light scattered by the irregular surfaces of the glass blocks makes the whole structure look as if it was made of jelly. Finger licking!

the cherry on the cake
However, the confectionery inspirations do not end with the choice of materials. As befits an artistic cake studio, the interior of Raisinless looks as if it was decorated with fluffy cream, squeezed directly from a confectioner's sleeve. This is thanks to the pink, fancy stucco that covered the walls of the room, enlivening the small interior of the establishment.

Profiled, "pearl" cornices go around the walls and ceiling like a border on a cake, and the legs of the furniture have the form of spherical, rhythmically arranged elements. The tops of the tables by the windows are cut into a delicate, wavy shape - bringing their form closer to sugar decorations while maintaining function.

The free expanses between the cornices and profiles were filled with pointillist geometric applications of evidently confectionery origin. Light, coming in through two large, square windows, also plays an important role in the perception of the interior:
The character of the space is encapsulated by the light. A neon sign with the name "BezRodzynek" hangs above the counter with a soft, "drawn" line, which emphasizes the ceiling line in the evening and makes the interior a distinct point on the street. During the day, the harsh sidelight pulls the stucco reliefs and tile structure out of the shadows, changing the perception of the space without changing the color palette.

there is a method in this madness
A jelly-chocolate contour, furniture cut in confectionery decor and cream-colored cornices did not prevent the design of a space in which functionality plays first fiddle:
The interior layout was subordinated to the work of the studio. The counter is set in the axis of the entrance and immediately leads the eye to the display of cakes, while the technical facilities are hidden behind a wall of glass blocks and discreetly integrated doors. As a result, visitors see an orderly, presentable area, while the process of creating the baked goods remains in the background.

In the name of functionality , the backroom was deprived of sweet details, decorating the representative part. The space where cakes, pastries, cupcakes and other masterpieces of confectionery art are created is instead bright and orderly with the help of white furniture with wooden tops. The small space houses everything needed to bring sweet ideas to life - food processors, refrigerators and, above all, the ovens where fluffy sponge cakes and crisp bottoms rise.

The BezRodzynek project demonstrates the mode:lina™ philosophy well. The interior is not just a background for the brand, it also becomes one of its most important tools. Here, the story of artisanal cakes turns into an experience of space - recognizable, with thoughtful detailing and not too sweet.
- conclude the architects.
Is it time for something sweet yet?
