This year's Venice Architecture Biennale is an important point in the discussion of the most important challenges of the world of architecture. We bring this multi-faceted Venice debate to Krakow! On June 26 at 18:00 at the Krakow branch of SARP we will meet with the creators of the exhibition in the Polish Pavilion: Aleksandra Kędziorek, Krzysztof Maniak, Katarzyna Przezwańska and Maciej Siuda, Michal Kubiak from Zachęta - National Gallery of Art and special guest: Marcin Kościuch, an architect from the Poznan studio Ultra Architects. The meeting will be moderated by Małgorzata Tomczak, editor-in-chief of A&B.

A&B partners at the Biennale

The 19th International Architecture Biennale in Venice officially opened on May 10. The curator, Italian architect and engineer Carlo Ratti, titled this year's edition "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective", emphasizing the word gens, meaning "people," and noting that in the face of today's challenges, architecture should draw on all forms of intelligence.

The biennial shows that solutions to today's pressing problems can take a variety of forms. The post-industrial space of the Arsenale was transformed into a giant laboratory of ideas and experiments, with national pavilions addressing topics such as new materials or the reuse of existing ones, the climate crisis, the challenges of extreme weather events and the relationship with nature, as well as the architectural profession. The Polish exhibition looked at the issue of a sense of security. This celebration of architecture will last until November 23, 2025.

This important architectural (and not only) discussion continues! Join us for a meeting with the creators of the exhibition "Lars and Penates. On Building a Sense of Security in Architecture" presented at the Polish Pavilion: Aleksandra Kędziorek, Krzysztof Maniak, Katarzyna Przezwańska and Maciej Siuda; Michal Kubiak of the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, responsible for Polish exhibitions at the Biennale, who will tell us the behind-the-scenes story of the competition for the exhibition representing our country; and special guest: Marcin Kościuch, an architect from the Ultra Architects sp. z o.o. studio in Poznań. The meeting will be moderated by Małgorzata Tomczak, editor-in-chief of A&B.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 26 at 6:00 pm at the Krakow branch of SARP (Szczepanski Square 6). Participation in the meeting is free of charge.
