The project, by Maja Andrian of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, was created as part of the "Elements of Architectural Design" class taught by Dr. Aleksandra Nowysz. The concept, titled "Four Pillars of Microclimate," is an attempt to combine architecture, construction and natural biological processes into one coherent spatial structure.
The starting point for the project was the analysis of a drawn material, which was to be consciously used within a strictly defined volume - a cube of 15 × 15 × 15 meters. This limitation became the impetus for the search for solutions in which the material is not just a structural element, but actively co-creates the character and function of the object.

a contemporary graduation tower with a minimalist form
The result of the design process is a wooden, openwork structure that is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional brine graduation tower. The structure was based on a regular arrangement of wooden beams forming a three-dimensional grid. The repetition of the modules builds the rhythm of the space and emphasizes the structural character of the object, while giving it visual lightness.
The central element of the composition are four vertical pillars, which have a double function - they are the main load-bearing framework and an integral part of the graduation tower system. Their prominence organizes the space and introduces a distinct vertical accent.

microclimate created by nature
The mechanism of operation of the facility is based on the natural process of evaporation of brine. The salt solution is transported to the upper platform and then flows evenly through the filling of blackthorn twigs placed inside the pillars.
As a result of the liquid's contact with the air, a brine aerosol with health-promoting properties is created. As a result, a specific microclimate is created in the immediate vicinity of the facility to promote the regeneration of the respiratory system and improve the well-being of users.

The openwork form of the pillars allows free flow of air, which is essential for the proper functioning of the entire system.
wood, light and relationship with the landscape
The primary construction material of the project is wood, which emphasizes the natural character of the establishment and its relationship with the surrounding landscape. The wooden grid filters light, creating variable chiaroscuro effects depending on the time of day and weather conditions.
The structure's transparency allows the interior to visually mingle with its surroundings and reinforces the building's integration with nature. The minimalist form is a conscious contrast to the traditional massive graduation towers, while preserving their functional idea.

The project is not only a technical installation, but also a space for contemplation and relaxation. The process of brine flow, the movement of air and the play of light create a dynamic spatial experience in which the relationship between matter, construction and natural processes becomes a key element in the perception of architecture.
