With the current diversity of work mode models, not everyone has the right conditions to create their home office or the resources to rent an office. Edyta Konieczny of Politechnika Rzeszowska designed "Space for Work and Personal Development," which will have space for all working people who do not have their own office. Her master's thesis was prepared under the direction of Dr. Magdalena Szpytma.
The facility was designed to create a temporary work space for those fleeing the war in Ukraine, which at the same time would provide a place dedicated to personal development. Its timeless nature, responding to the needs of a changing world, is also worth noting.

A place for individual work and integration in one
The designed building is intended to satisfy the human need for integration and create working conditions for all those in need, whether students, the Ukrainian community or people starting their own businesses who cannot afford to rent office space on their own.

The author's priority was to choose a location in a well-connected part of the city, so that the facility would be accessible to everyone and at the same time not be isolated urban. The selected plot is located on Kopisto Street and is adjacent to the Millennium Hall shopping mall in Rzeszow, and a large number of bus stops are available nearby. Workplaces, stores, schools and clinics are within a 15-minute drive from there.

fast construction in response to modern needs
The basic assumptions of the project were based on the creation of a simple, modular structure that can be built in a short time.

The building was created from 87 containers measuring 255x1223 cm and 290 cm high. Arranged on two levels, they are the headquarters of people with various professions. Those with a service function are located on the first floor. It is there that creative and artisanal professions such as a seamstress, shoemaker, hairdresser or beautician can have their headquarters. The northern side of the plot offers music, painting and model-making studios, among others.
In addition to the commercial spaces, the first floor also includes one-, two- and three-bedroom offices and two coworking spaces. A food and beverage area has also been designed in the western part of Level 0, and a green recreational space in the center of the building. There is also a small municipal library.

On the first floor, rooms for training and conference spaces were planned. In the eastern part there are also workshops. The individual containers are connected to each other by a footbridge.

The designed coworking center is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities - the pedestrian routes are no narrower than 1.5 m, and each staircase is equipped with an elevator.

In Edyta Konieczny's design, containers were used in an interesting way. Thanks to appropriate insulation with polystyrene foam and mineral wool, the containers can serve all year round, regardless of the season. Also, thanks to the use of containers, such an object becomes much more affordable economically, can be made in a short time and is easily susceptible to the necessary manipulations.

In the end, Edyta Konieczny's design is a proposal for modern construction that meets the modern needs of urban residents. The proposed coworking space fulfills not only a multitude of functions, but at the same time is simply a pleasant place to spend not only time at work, but also outside of it.
