Modern public spaces respond to the dynamic needs of society. Mediateka Flow, a project by Kamila Tomczak of the Academy of Art in Szczecin, created under the supervision of Dr. Krzysztof Bizio, is an innovative combination of a traditional library with a space for work, learning and social integration. Modern society needs places that not only provide access to knowledge, but also create conditions for workshops, meetings and the development of digital competencies. The space has been designed to respond to the needs of different age groups, offering an open and multifunctional space conducive to both quiet work and creative meetings.

two variants of project implementation
The main goal of the project is to provide access to knowledge and educational resources to various social groups, including residents/residents of small towns and villages, where such places are often difficult to access. The design of the Flow mediatheque has been developed in two versions, allowing the solution to be adapted to the specifics of the place. Version A is an expanded mediatheque, designed for medium-sized and larger cities. It is characterized by a wide range of functions, such as multimedia rooms, reading rooms, coworking spaces and zones dedicated to youth and children. The B version, on the other hand, is a compact and economical option, aimed at smaller towns where access to modern libraries is limited. Despite its small size, the B version offers key features, allowing residents/residents to enjoy educational and technological resources that were previously only available in larger centers.

architecture and functionality of the space
Mediateka Flow is distinguished by its original architecture inspired by movement. The building was designed using rounded, obtuse shapes, which gives it a dynamic and flowing character. The façade, made of perforated steel, allows natural light into the interior, emphasizing the lightness and elegance of the structure. The interiors are kept in a light, neutral color scheme, where white and shades of gray dominate, which promotes a minimalist style and brings out the qualities of the collections and decorative elements on display.

When designing the space, special emphasis was placed on ergonomics and attention to detail. Each element was thought through to ensure comfort of use and the possibility of flexible transformation of the function of the rooms depending on current needs. The implementation of the project also involves technological and organizational challenges, as the rapid development of technology requires constant updating of resources and adaptation of the space to changing trends. Mediateka Flow is therefore intended not only to meet contemporary standards, but also to set new directions in the shaping of public places, becoming a catalyst for the development of local communities.

The design of the Flow media room is a solution, combining educational, cultural and social functions. Its innovative architecture and functional flexibility make it possible to tailor the space to the specific needs of users, promoting the development of digital competence and social integration. The realization of this project can become a model for future public investments, responding to the challenges of modern times and opening new opportunities in access to knowledge.
