#YoungPolisharchitects - Maciej Franta on the profession of architecture

02 of November '22

The text is from A&B 7-8/22.

In our #YoungPolishArchitects series, we ask questions to young architects about the conditions of practicing the profession and the problems faced by architecture graduates right after graduation.

Entitlements - why are young architects reluctant to obtain them?

Perhaps the difficulty of practicing the profession and the increase in salaries are causing fewer and fewer to decide to become independent in the profession.

Conditions for practicing the profession for the young

I think they are improving a lot. In the days when I was starting out, we were the ones looking for work as architects, now work is looking for architects. In the perspective of the next few years, the work of an architect will be more graceful and better paid than today. It is getting better every year.

An easier start in the profession, that is?

There is a lack of professional practice and better internship programs at the university stage. Young architects graduating from university unfortunately have a completely false idea of what the profession looks like and the realities and activities involved.
