Work submitted for the competition
"Best Interior Diploma".
The diploma project covers the living space and entrance area in Student House No. 3 at 5 Kórnicka Street in Poznań. The main goal was to create a new housing standard for students. Based on the available analysis and research conducted by the author of the thesis, compact spaces were created to allow rest, study and social integration in an ergonomically designed interior. Referring to the years of dormitory construction, the style of the rooms was inspired by the 1970s combined with modern, flowing shapes and innovative solutions. The work meets the principles of universal design.

The designed entrance area with a reception desk was intended to foreshadow the style inside the student rooms located in the building. The space is characterized by a simple layout, which allowed the separation of clearly marked functional zones. This created an entrance with a waiting room, a place for filing documents, a reception area, behind which is an open office for employees, and a kitchenette. The purpose of the changes made was not only to improve the traffic flow and provide a place to conveniently deal with office matters, but also to improve the working conditions of those serving the reception area.

The design of the first room was created to meet the needs of two unrelated people. To this end, both areas for spending time in seclusion and those for integrating were provided. In order to meet the expectations of students hoping to make new friends in the dormitory, the room was designed to be transformed in a short period of time into a place to spend time together not only in the common spaces, but also in the living area. With all the amenities, such as a pull-out table and dressing table with an illuminated mirror, as well as hidden additional seating areas, being part of specially designed furniture, the room is easy to customize according to one's current needs while keeping it tidy. The introduction of sliding partitions, on the other hand, guarantees quiet work and rest, so the people living there can easily perform their duties without disturbing each other.

The design of the concept for the second interior was created in response to the needs of prospective students, who in a survey overwhelmingly expressed their enthusiasm about the prospect of living in one room with their partner. The main difference between this module and a classic double is the presence of a double bed. This difference gave the opportunity to design a different functional layout and apply additional innovations to meet the needs of residents of this type of room. Among the most important solutions used can certainly be counted the design of the sleeping area; the raised bed has built into its structure not only a lot of extra storage space, but also a pull-out table and seating area, ideal for meeting friends or spending time for two.

To provide more space for such occasions, folding desks have been designed, as well as spaces designed to hide office chairs. In addition, to ensure that the student sleeps comfortably while the other is working, a rotating screen was planned, the translucency of which can be freely adjusted according to current needs. In addition to the innovations in the sleeping and working areas, the design of the multifunctional closet, which conceals a dining table and a dressing table with a mirror illuminated by an LED strip, is also noteworthy. Thanks to this solution, the room gained additional functions to improve the comfort of students' lives while maintaining a simple functional layout. This means that the resulting room concept creates opportunities, adapting to its occupants and facilitating seamless sharing of the relatively small space.
