ZinCo's technology relies on a proven system of functional layers: a protective layer, drainage (Floradrain®, Floraset®, Georaster®, or Retention Spacer elements), filter fabrics, substrates and plant mats - resulting in durability and predictable performance.

KEY BENEFITS:

- Rainwater management

The solution with ZinCo drainage elements allows for storage of additional water up to ~57 l/m². This is a real help in relieving the burden on drainage systems. By redirecting runoff, we can counteract local flooding. Studies and literature reviews show a wide range of retention from a few tens of percent to more than 80-90% depending on the configuration of the elements, plants and substrate. Properly selected substrate mixtures achieve high levels of rainfall retention. For the homeowner, this means less risk of local flooding and less strain on the drainage system.

- Energy savings and thermal comfort

A green roof acts as additional thermal insulation - it reduces heat loss in winter and limits the heating of the building in summer, which translates into lower heating/air conditioning bills and greater comfort for users. Scientific research confirms the beneficial effect on building energy demand and microclimate.

- Durability and return on investment

A professionally constructed green roof in the ZinCo system, with proper maintenance, can last for the life of the building - the company's EPD documents note claimed service lives of ≥50 years. That's longer than many traditional roofing materials, which changes the economic calculus of the investment.

- Design and installation capabilities

ZinCo systems allow for the implementation of solutions on flat, sloping and steep roof s (up to ~45° with special Georaster® elements) and for combining with photovoltaic installation (SolarVert® solutions), combining aesthetics with utility function.

Practical aspects for the homeowner

ZinCo offers variants of roofs with extensive greening (low cost in maintenance with plant coverings such as sedum) and a roof garden on which we will establish lawns, flowerbeds and install landscaping elements. The choice depends on the allowable load on the roof structure, planned use and budget. GCL - the exclusive distributor in Poland - helps to select ready-made systems, which speeds up installation and facilitates maintenance. Inspection and minor maintenance is recommended at least once a year for roofs with extensive greening, and more often for intensive roofs.
