Heaters and underfloor heating

.

Heat radiators and underfloor heating for the home are heating systemsthat allow homeowners to maintain thermal comfort. Each of these solutions has its advantages, and although floor heatingis gaining in popularity year by year, heatersare not being left behind and are still a frequently chosen solution.

.

Floor heating or radiators?

.

Which heating system will work better - underfloor heating or traditional heaters? This is a common dilemma among people who are building or renovating their home. Which solution is worth choosing? There is no clear answer to this question, but before deciding which heater to choose for your home, learn the most important features of both.

Floor heating

.

Floor heatinggives a very high level of thermal comfort becauseheat spreads from the bottom to the top. The temperature of the water that is needed to heat the floor is lower than that which must be supplied to the radiators. Underfloor heating can therefore be cheaper to operate, but the installation itself is more costly and complicated than installing traditional radiators.

.

Traditional radiators

.

The cost of installing traditional radiators is lower than underfloor heating. It is also much easier to replace or repair, for example, one radiator in case of failure.Traditional radiators can heat up interiors very quickly, but they also cool down quickly when turned off. Radiators provide slightly lower thermal comfort than underfloor heating, because the air they heat often rises. For the same reason, this type of heating can cause higher energy consumption.

Types of heaters

.

Traditional radiators can be divided into many groups, for example, in terms of the material they are made of, the room in which they are located or the method of power supply.

  • Material - Aluminum radiators or steel radiators are most commonly used on the market today. Cast-iron radiators are already found less and less often - mostly in old installations.
  • .
  • Building - here we have, among others, plate radiators, that is, the most popular flat radiators built from steel plates. There are also sectional radiators, consisting of separate fins, and convector radiators, which take advantage of the natural movement of air resulting from temperature differences.
  • Purpose - we can distinguish room heaterswhich are used in most domestic rooms, as well as bathroom heaterswhose special shape makes it possible to hang towels or clothes.
  • Method of power supply -we can distinguish water heaters, that is, the most popular ones, which heat rooms thanks to hot water. On the market you can also find electric heaters and mixed heaters, that is, those that use both methods.
