The Adam Ciuk Architekci architectural studio from Warsaw has created a design for a complex of recreational houses called Euro Home. The project is to be built in Austria in the spa region of Burgenland-Pannonia, providing users with magnificent views of the Alpine panorama.

The venture, in its business concept, consisted in designing several types of buildings of recreational character and their attractive arrangement on the investor's property. The presented single house, with an area of 138.52 square meters, is designed for a couple or three users. The most important feature of the building is its modularity and the possibility of prefabrication. This feature was a basic guideline of the investor and was an economic factor for the success of the project.

As architect Adam Ciuk says about the design work:

The first concepts were developed based on modified shipping containers. However, this solution was considered unattractive from a financial and usability point of view (the maximum height of the storey is only 2.4 m). In further search, we focused on finding a technology that would offer full functional capabilities with all the advantages of prefabrication. Such a solution turned out to be a timber frame combined with steel elements. Thanks to the steel structure, the building was able to maintain the designed open character ofthe projection, and on the other hand it allowed us to easily obtain a large overhang (2.5 m), which is the most important stylistic feature of the block.

beautiful views and a bedroom in the overhang

In its final version, the building gained a first floor with an open plan, in which the space of the kitchen, dining room and living room are sequentially intermingled. Along these are located four large glass windows opening up to an amazing view of the mountains and forest. It was also possible to achieve a two-story opening above part of the living room. The building was covered with anthracite-colored facade panels, referring to the local architecture, whose stained wooden facades have completely blackened with the passage of time. Particularly noteworthy is the living room with a fireplace set just in front of a large glass window. In the winter season, snowy mountains can be seen in the background of the fire. The bedroom was placed in an overhang with exposure to the forest.
