Promat glazed fire walls and doors in all-glass (frameless) construction

02 of December '20

Promat® SYSTEMGLAS and PROMAGLAS® fire protection glazings

Glazed walls with fire resistance in the so-called all-glass version, have established themselves in our public space for good. Engineers of the company PROMAT Techniczna Ochrona Przeciwpożarowa Sp. z o.o. have carried out extensive research in this area, and as a result, the company's fireproof glass walls are used on a daily basis in the most recognizable public buildings. As the authors of this technology write - "We are all the more pleased that we were the originator and forerunner of these solutions."

Glazed walls in wooden construction

As one of the world's largest manufacturers of fire glass, the company PROMAT Techniczna Ochrona Przeciwpożarowa Sp. z o.o. examined glazed walls in popular systems available on the market. Conclusions were drawn that glazed walls in wooden profiles are particularly impressive technically and in terms of design. They occur both in mullion and transom construction and in all-glass (so-called frameless) construction. Their realistic height to be achieved is up to 5 meters, while at the same time their length is unlimited. Technical Approval ITB AT-15-9234/2014, allows the use of wood glulam with a minimum density of 500 kg/m3. Promat engineers have concluded that they can successfully use pine profile for their Promaglas and Promat SYSTEMGLAS glazing.

Promat® all-glass glazing.

We are a manufacturer of fire glass and not profiles. Therefore, we have "eliminated" profiles completely, including the so-called perimeter profiles. Consequently, only glazings of the Promaglas and Promat SYSTEMGLAS brands can be called all-glass glazings, in the full sense of the word. It is interesting to note that as the first system provider on the Polish market, we have proven that, in terms of fire safety , glazing of the Promaglas and Promat SYSTEMGLAS brand can serve as a fire separation, meeting the criteria of load-bearing capacity, airtightness and fire insulation (REI) in the range of 30-120 minutes.

Promat fireproof glazed door in wooden profile

Complementing the glazed partition walls offered by Promat in the fire resistance class are glazed doors in EI 30 and EI 60 classes also made in a wooden profile. The same species of wood, as well as the same width of the frame (min. 65 mm), creates a coherent, harmonious and complete system. Common to both classes is also the maximum height of these glazed doors, as much as 3000 mm!!!
