The LUXORA multi-family residential building was designed by Barbara Kapusta of Rzeszow University of Technology under the direction of Dr. Joanna Dudek. Its name directly refers to the Latin word lux meaning "light," the idea of which is omnipresent at every stage of the design.
facade and presentation
The building consists of a black façade and a facade with rotating panels. The minimalism of the facade allows to emphasize the climbing ivy, flower pots and panels that create with their form an openwork arrangement. The body of the building is unobtrusive, but still elegant and eye-catching. Minimalism and form, derived primarily from function, make the project modern, but also universal, because the way it looks is a direct result of its relationship with the environment, to which it adapts thanks to the panels on the facade.
light and energy efficiency
Therotating panels installed in the LUXORA building make it possible to regulate the amount of light entering the interior. This guarantees the comfort of the residents, who can adjust everything to their own needs and the time of day. This is due to the applied principle of passive construction, based on maximum use of the benefits of the natural environment. Lighting the space in winter or protecting it from overheating in summer reduce electricity consumption. Ivy, in addition to its decorative role, helps regulate temperature and increases insulation capabilities. Low-carbon concrete and structural wood as building materials also help reduce the carbon footprint a building could leave. Light is treated both as an impetus for the design of the form and for technological solutions that improve the lives of residents and have a positive impact on the environment.
convenience and individuality
The apartments can be freely arranged, according to the individual needs of the residents. This is helped by the open living area. The LUXORA building supports the idea of self-sufficiency thanks to photovoltaic panels installed on the roof to produce electricity for the common areas. Inside LUXORA, there will also be a recreational courtyard with leisure and meeting areas that could encourage integration Electric car charging stations are also envisioned to provide convenience for residents and encourage the use of environmentally friendly means of transportation.
