The company was founded in 1914 by George Allart, production took place in a small workshop in Birmingham. Over the following decades, the company steadily grew and diversified.Today the product range includes door handles and knobs, along with a huge selection of signs and escutcheons, furniture handles in a great many styles, sizes and variants, locks and window handles, basquil locks, furniture accessories: hinges, latches, bolts. There is also no shortage of door accessories: bells, knockers, letterholes, etc.

There are 36 metal finishes available, including electroplated and patina coatings, satin, hand-brushed or polished finishes, lacquered or unlacquered.
The collection of finished designs ranges from loft and industrial models, to Art Deco and 1960s modernism, to classic models. But nothing is prejudged once and for all. Individual elements - escutcheons, signs, bathroom locks can be freely selected and combined.
