A cooktop with a built-in range hood is a solution I really like, especially in open-concept kitchens. If we place it on an island or a peninsula, we can cook facing our family or guests, and we no longer need to install a traditional range hood above the countertop. Instead, we can opt for a decorative light fixture, which often sets the tone for the entire space. In an open kitchen, it’s also important that the appliance operates quietly and effectively removes odors. Its airflow capacity can reach up to 415 m³/h on the highest standard setting and up to 725 m³/h in intensive mode. And this solution isn’t just for large kitchens. Compact models can also be installed in a standard 60-cm cabinet, against a wall, or under a window. I really like the latter option because, instead of staring at a wall while cooking, we can enjoy the view outside the window. A cooktop with a range hood also works great in less spacious interiors, such as kitchens with sloped ceilings. There’s just one thing to keep in mind: if the range hood is to function as an exhaust hood connected to the ventilation system, it’s a good idea to plan the installation—especially near an island or peninsula—as early as the design or renovation phase

Which line do you choose? Premium, mid-range, or budget?
Franke 2gether appliances are designed to meet a variety of needs in terms of functionality, design, and budget. Within the premium Mythos line, you can choose from the models featured in this article: Mythos 2gether Slide, Mythos 2gether Supreme, and Mythos 2gether Icon Steel. Maris 2gether Swing represents Franke’s mid-range line, while Smart 2gether Ellipse is the economy option, the most affordable choice. What width do you need for your countertop? 70 or maybe 83 cm?
Looking for compact solutions for small kitchens? Choose the Smart 2gether Ellipse, which features a 70-cm-wide glass cooking surface. This model can be installed in a standard 60 cm-wide cabinet or in a cutout designed for a standard 60 cm induction cooktop.
If you can dedicate a larger portion of your countertop and a wider cabinet to the cooking zone, choose from the other four cooktop models in the collection. They are all 83 cm wide, and cabinets at least 80 cm wide are recommended for their installation.

Which finish will suit your kitchen? Matte or classic black glass?
If you prefer minimalist designs and are looking for a product that’s stain-resistant—and whose matte surface makes minor scratches less visible —choose the Mythos 2gether Slide or Mythos 2gether Supreme models. A countertop with a matte black finish is a solution for a kitchen that will not only look elegant but is also easier to keep tidy.
In contrast, the Mythos 2gether Icon Steel, Maris 2gether Swing, and Smart 2gether Ellipse models feature classic black glass. Its glossy surface can complement an oven, coffee maker, and other appliances with a similar finish. This solution will give your kitchen a more modern and luxurious look.

How would you like to open and close the range hood? Would you prefer an automatic flap, a manual flap, or a fixed inlet?
The Mythos 2gether Slide features a patented hood intake flap that opens and closes automatically. It is finished with the same matte black glass as the cooktop. When closed, it creates a visually seamless surface. This makes the appliance an elegant and discreet element of your kitchen design.

The Maris 2gether Swing model is equipped with a manually operated glass flap. The other models, however, feature fixed inlets without any moving parts. The Mythos 2gether Supreme and Smart 2gether Ellipse have black polymer grilles, while the Mythos 2gether Icon Steel stands out with a stainless steel intake that can complement the sink, faucet, and other stainless steel details.
