A color that penetrates deeper
In select Holzexport collections, the wood undergoes a chemical smoking process. This treatment changes the color not only on the surface but throughout the entire thickness of the wear layer.
The effect is completely different from that of classic staining—the color has greater depth, natural irregularity, and a more complex tonal range. This is particularly evident when combined with white oil, which brings out the wood’s structure without obscuring its natural grain.
When paired with a sawn surface, light plays a very distinct role on this type of parquet—it reveals every detail, shadow, and variation in tone.
Precision that becomes apparent only after installation

Pythagoras – when the floor layout becomes part of the design
Not every parquet floor has to rely on standard formats. The Pythagoras collection was designed with architects in mind who want to work with geometry more consciously.
Planks 200 mm wide and 600 or 800 mm long create a strong floor pattern and help minimize the number of joints. However, the key elements are the left- and right-facing planks, which open up far greater installation possibilities.

This allows for the creation of symmetrical, mirrored, diagonal, or more original compositions.
In addition to classic and mirrored patterns, the system of left and right planks allows for the creation of more complex rhythms, such as unique multi-pattern layouts, in which the floor’s geometry itself becomes an integral element of the interior composition.
In the version finished with white oil, Pythagoras effectively showcases its scale, geometry, and the interplay of light.
