From the series “Bathrooms and Fixtures — Trends for 2026”
Bathrooms are increasingly being designed as full-fledged interiors —with their own atmosphere, a distinctive palette of materials, and fixtures that become an integral part of the overall design. This was clearly evident at the most important European industry events in recent months in Frankfurt and Milan. Instead of a single dominant style, several trends have emerged: softer geometry, natural materials and colors, a greater emphasis on durability, and technology discreetly integrated into the fixtures. The offerings from ORiSTO, a Polish manufacturer of bathroom furniture—the Pillow, Lagom, and Tecto collections—align with these trends.

At the same time, the contemporary bathroom does not have a single look. Alongside organic forms, we see a calm, warm minimalism based on natural colors and materials. On the other hand, there are more architectural interiors, built using precise lines, proportions, and clear divisions.

Soft minimalism. Geometry softens
Minimalism remains an important trend, but it is becoming softer and more inviting. Simple compositions are still present, but sharp divisions are increasingly giving way to rounded forms and fluid lines.
Rounded forms balance the surfaces of tiles, glass, mirrors, and ceramics well. This is particularly evident in small bathrooms, where we view the furniture from a close distance, and its shape has a significant impact on how the entire interior is perceived.

The Pillow collection from ORiSTO fits perfectly into this trend. Its rounded, “soft” fronts soften the overall composition and can balance out the more pronounced geometry of other bathroom fixtures.

The soft form works well both in a calm, monochromatic interior and when paired with stone, textured ceramics, or tiles with bold patterns. The contrast arises from the combination of different geometries, without the need for additional decorations.
Warm minimalism. A serene, yet not sterile, interior
Warm minimalism is based on simplicity and visual order, but makes greater use of natural materials and colors. Wood and its variations, beiges, off-whites, grays, stone, and matte surfaces add warmth to understated interiors.

The significance of materials was one of the key themes of this year’s presentations in Milan. Materials are increasingly becoming the starting point for product design—influencing its appearance, functional properties, and character all at once.
Lagom aligns closely with this way of thinking. The Swedish word “lagom” means “just right”—neither too much nor too little. And it is precisely this balance that is one of the most intriguing themes in interior design today.

In the bathroom, this does not mean asceticism. Rather, it is about a conscious limitation of elements: well-proportioned furniture, a calm color palette, functional storage, and details that do not compete with one another for attention. As a result, the built-in furniture becomes part of a larger, cohesive composition.
Architectural minimalism. Furniture as part of the composition
Alongside soft forms, a more assertive geometry emerges. Thin lines, precise divisions, and orderly planes make the fixtures function almost like elements of architecture.

With simple forms, proportions, edges, material joints, and craftsmanship take on particular significance. The Tecto collection is based on these elements. Its clean lines and bold geometry give the interior character without the need for additional decorations.

Contemporary trends reveal not so much what a bathroom should look like, but rather how our thinking about its function, aesthetics, and place in the home is changing. A trend, therefore, is no longer a ready-made formula for an interior—it becomes, rather, a starting point for creating a cohesive, durable space tailored to the way we want to use it.
