In an era of increasingly stringent energy efficiency standards and growing environmental awareness, heat pumps are becoming an increasingly popular choice in the heating sector.
GREE Versati heat pumps offer versatile solutions for single-family buildings, both new and thermally upgraded. With the introduction of a new cascade controller, they can also be successfully used in buildings with high heat demand, such as boarding houses, hotels and multi-family buildings.

Diverse heat demand
Public buildings, multi-family buildings or hotels and boarding houses, have variable heat demand. Depending on the season, the number of guests or the demand for domestic hot water, heating energy consumption can vary significantly. In such cases, the use of a single high-powered heat pump may not be appropriate. Oversizing a heat pump leads to frequent cycling, which negatively affects its efficiency and accelerates wear and tear on the unit. In turn, underestimating the power of the pump results in inadequate heating and higher electricity consumption when the unit operates very intensively for a long time, which raises obvious problems not only in single-family buildings, but also in commercial buildings.
The cascade system is the answer
to demand variability
The cascade system of GREE heat pumps is a solution that allows efficient management of heat demand in facilities with variable loads. By using a number of smaller units in a cascade, the system can adapt to the current demand, thus optimizing energy consumption. When heat demand increases, additional pumps can be put to work, and when demand decreases, these units can be turned off. This operating model provides flexibility and increases system efficiency. In a Gree cascade system, two to four pumps can be connected. These units can be of different types (monoblock, split, all and one), as well as of different wattage - we have full freedom of choice here.

New GREE Versati cascade controller
In addition to the proper selection of the units themselves and their power, the key element of a cascade system is the control. In response to market needs, GREE is introducing a new cascade controller to manage the simultaneous operation of up to four Versati heat pumps in a cascade with a total heating output of up to 64 kW. The device monitors the temperature, heat demand and operating conditions of the individual heat pumps in the system. On the basis of this information, it decides whether to start up or shut down individual units depending on current needs. It ensures that the load is evenly distributed among all units - this helps avoid situations in which one heat pump works too intensively. In extreme cases, this could shorten its service life.
This makes it possible to:
- Increase system efficiency: The controller automatically adjusts the operation of the pumps to the current needs, resulting in lower energy consumption.
- Energy savings: Cascade operation minimizes energy loss, which is especially important in the context of rising operating costs.
- Safety and durability: Alternating heat pump operation reduces the risk of overloading and extends the life of the equipment.

GREE offers three types of VERSATI heat pumps: All in One, Monoblock and Split. All units are air-to-water pumps.
VERSATI ALL IN ONE HEAT PUMPS
These are Split units with a built-in 185-liter hot water storage tank. The stratified-charged tank ensures faster availability of hot water for the user and lower operating costs compared to a tank with a classic coil. The integration of the tank with an internal hydromodule guarantees convenience in both the selection and installation, as well as in the operation of the device. It also saves space compared to a system with an external tank. The dimension of the indoor unit is only 60 x 65 cm with a height of 180 cm. The compact unit provides domestic hot water and heating water. What's more, the installation of the unit does not require additional installation and components to connect the tank. The pump, which comes in heating capacities from 4.0 to 15.5 kW, is equipped with a modern touchscreen controller with a menu in Polish and a Wi-Fi module that allows the unit to be controlled from anywhere via an app.
VERSATI MONOBLOCK HEAT PUMPS
They have gained great popularity due to their ease of installation and high efficiency. They are characterized by high energy efficiency coefficients and increased heating reliability. The COP of these models can even reach more than 5.0. The compressor crankcase heater increases the safety of operation at low temperatures. In addition, the monobloc heat pump series is equipped with factory-fitted peak heaters. With two-stage control, they can support the heat pump during extremely low outdoor temperatures. Models with heating capacities from 8.2 to 15.7 kW are available.

VERSATI SPLIT HEAT PUMPS
The same as the previous two models - allow the implementation of low-temperature heating, domestic hot water preparation and cooling (through fan coils). With a wide power range from 6.0 to 15.5 kW, they are used both in small residential buildings and small commercial investments. High parameters and modern design make them exceptionally energy-efficient and reliable. Versati Split is equipped with a built-in 3-way valve, which makes it easy to install a hot water tank.
