Window decorations - still an underestimated aspect of interior design

"When founding the Warszawskie Firany brand, we wanted to create a company that not only provides window decorations, but above all understands their role in the design process. It is thanks to them that interiors become a complete and coherent composition." Maciej Sikora and Patryk Bartkowski

A window is not only a source of light, but a frame and a landmark in space. That's why window decorations should be treated as an integral part of the design, not an add-on left to the client. For years, we have observed that the lack of decisions regarding window decorations at the design stage, results in technical consequences that are difficult to repair and the visual effect often deviates from the intended one.

Window decorations are worth considering as a tool for creating space.

Thanks to them we can expose the assets of the interior, emphasize the style or mask certain deficiencies.
Properly selected fabrics affect the acoustics of the interior - they can reduce reverberation, improve the comfort of work or rest. Taking advantage of hanging systems such as WAVE or FLEX means that curtains and drapes always lay in an even, expected way. By consciously choosing materials such as dimout or blackout, we can properly darken a room. By using a lining, even of the most translucent linen fabric, we can achieve an interior with a total blackout effect. Compromises are no longer necessary.

Customers expect solutions that not only bring an extra effect to the room, but also provide comfort of use. The electric control systems available from us, support convenient and precise control of the amount of natural light, including automation of their operation through integration with SMART HOME systems. These solutions are even indispensable in the case of high, two-story windows or extremely heavy curtains.

Each type of window decoration available at Warszawskie Firanany, offers a wide range of personalization possibilities. Dimensions or types of materials used have no limits for us, and details such as decorative tapes at blinds, cords for controlling roller blinds or stitching of curtains, allow us to achieve unique visual effects.
The decision on window decorations can not be left to chance.

An architect who consciously incorporates window decorations into a project gains consistency of execution and increases client satisfaction.

This is an area where aesthetic intuition alone is not enough. Knowledge of the role of light in interiors, acoustics, mounting systems or technical possibilities is needed.
Decisions in this area should be taken into account as early as possible. To avoid future technical clashes, it is worth planning right after determining the leading design style. This will allow you to consciously use a concealed curtain rod or maintain any necessary technical dimensions. Each hanging system, is characterized by different needed fabric width, mounting dimensions or fabric orientation, especially if you plan to install decorations in rooms over 3 meters high.
It is also worthwhile to leave space for analyzing the use of the interior, learning the preferences of the occupants and facing dilemmas regarding the combination of different types of window decorations. An architect cannot be indifferent to the changing trends or the increasing influence of recycled solutions and natural materials.
Ready-made solutions tempt with price, but in premium projects they quickly betray their limitations - too short curtains, poor fabrics or lack of personalization reduce the value of the whole project. That's why window decorations are increasingly being talked about as the missing link in interior design.
