The graduation project of Kacper Konieczko from the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Technology, carried out under the supervision of Dr. Maciej Stojak, is a proposal to transform the Municipal Port in Wrocław into a skate subculture center. "Port 2.0" combines a skatepark with artistic and educational spaces, creating a meeting place and community integration, while contributing to the revitalization of a neglected part of the city.

passion turned into a graduation project
Kacper Konieczko, who has been involved in the skate community for years, decided to use his experience and create a facility that would not only be a sports space, but above all a place for meetings, free expression and integration. Wroclaw, an open and diverse city, became a natural choice. He chose the City Port, a neglected and forgotten area with great potential, as the location.

The centerpiece of the project is a 625 m² skatepark hall. It was designed as a modular and dynamic space - obstacles and ramps can be modified to create a variety of riding tracks. However, the skatepark is just the beginning.
Kacper has also planned workshop and exhibition rooms, a multimedia space, a gaming zone, a celebrity gallery and relaxation areas. The facility is expected to be bustling throughout the day - from sports activities, to art events, to evening gatherings.
architecture and subculture aesthetics
The architectural form of Port 2.0 grows out of the skate aesthetic. The steel structure and shipping containers - adapted and repurposed - give the facility a sense of temporariness and freedom. The colorful containers arranged in an irregular manner create a unique mass that reflects the independence and underground nature of the subculture. The whole is complemented by street art elements and recycled materials, which reinforces the authenticity of the space.

The project is not limited to aesthetics and function. Kacper also focused on environmentally friendly solutions. Perovskite panels were planned for the roofs, which work even on irregular surfaces, and a rainwater retention system allows for its reuse. The very choice of containers as a building material is a conscious gesture toward recycling and reuse.
authentic place
For the author, Port 2.0 is not just a thesis, but a space where skate culture will find a home. It's a response to the need to create a place that is authentic, free of commercial taint, where everyone - regardless of age or skill - can develop passion and be themselves.

As Kacper emphasizes, the project has the ambition to become a point of recognition not only locally, but also in Europe. The Wroclaw City Port would thus gain a new identity - instead of a neglected area, a space that is creative and full of energy.

The project "Port 2.0 - Skate Subculture Center" is Kacper Konieczko's personal, bold and innovative vision, combining architecture, culture and ecology. It is an example of how architecture can grow out of passion and real community needs, becoming a manifesto of freedom, independence and creative expression.
