A floor laid in a classic herringbone pattern is an exceptionally stylish and comfortable element of any interior. How to combine herringbone flooring with a modern interior?
Contrary to appearances, a floor laid in a classic herringbone pattern—typically associated with interiors decorated in a classic and comfortable style—will fit perfectly into modern designs. It creates a stunning composition when paired with minimalist, glamour, modern classic, loft, or Scandinavian styles. Keep in mind that panels with this shape are bold, decorative, and rich in color (available in several shades), so the other elements of the design should be somewhat subdued and subtle. Such combinations will allow us to highlight the floor, which in itself serves as a unique decorative element in any interior. A herringbone floor layout works well not only in large, spacious interiors but also in smaller homes or apartments—provided they have sufficient natural light. When combined with modern elements, it creates a unique blend of classic elegance with a contemporary twist. Panels in a slightly darker shade of oak work well in light-colored schemes dominated by bright hues, which provide the perfect contrast to the darker floor. You can also achieve a stunning effect in a luxurious glamour style, where dark panels are brightened with glass, gold, and silver accents. A dark floor is also a sensational companion for large industrial-style spaces that need a touch of warmth and contrasting, sophisticated elements.
