Röben clinker bricks and tiles. Strength, durability, resistance and energy efficiency

02 of December '21

Röben - Ceramics of the 21st century

Clinker is a natural, ecological material with excellent technical parameters. Deciding on a brick or clinker tile, you can be sure of its strength, durability, as well as resistance and energy efficiency. The surface covered with a brick or clinker tile will maintain an unchanged color throughout its life, and on top of that it will be durable and resistant to mechanical damage.

Röben, which has been in the market of ceramic building materials for more than 160 years, produces bricks exclusively from high-quality clay. No cement, lime or other artificial additives are used in its production. As a result, they are natural and safe for the inhabitants of the houses erected with them. The bricks are fired at a very high temperature, over 1000°C. This gives them durability and extremely low water absorption of up to 6%. This makes Röben products very robust and, among other things, frost resistant. In addition, they have high resistance to compression, as well as to the effects of chemicals and biodegradation. The products are also thoroughly ecological, manufactured in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and in accordance with the "zero waste" concept. The decision to choose this natural raw material is therefore profitable for all of us.

ECOLOGY FIRST AND FOREMOST

Both bricks and clinker tiles are environmentally friendly, recyclable materials. All Röben products that do not meet standards are recycled again. As a result, we always get building materials of the highest quality, natural, with unique characteristics. Clinker, thanks to its resistance to harsh weather conditions, not only perfectly protects the building, but also has a beneficial effect on the microclimate of the interior. The clay from which ceramics are fired has anti-allergic, anti-static and anti-bacterial properties, and on top of this it has the ability to absorb and evaporate moisture. As a result, walls made of ceramic are resistant to chemical and biological corrosion (fungi, algae and mosses), and create a bioclimate that is favorable to humans, characterized by air humidity of 50-60%. Therefore, staying in a house built of ceramic materials increases our resistance to microorganisms, promotes positive air ionization and prevents the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract from drying out.

The choice of environmentally friendly ceramics is not driven by fashion, but by economic and ethical factors. Aware of climate change, we try not to generate unnecessary waste, and avoid products that are harmful to the environment. We also abandon low-quality products in favor of products that are resistant to rapid wear. Building ceramics are both environmentally friendly and extremely durable materials. Resistant to harsh weather conditions, it can last for up to several hundred years, as best exemplified by the many monuments built with the characteristic red brick.

AESTHETICS OF ECOCERAMICS

Today's clinker bricks delight in color, texture and format. In Röben's offer we can find products from very light - white, through sandy, yellow, orange, in shades of red, to browns, grays, graphites and deep blacks. Their color can be uniform or shaded, and with additional effects of rubbing and shiny patterns.

There are also numerous face textures to choose from. In addition to smooth, it can be sandblasted, flaked, battered, scratched or fluted. With them we will get a uniform surface or an original, rustic, aged surface. In addition to the universal size of bricks, we also have extended formats available: LDF with dimensions of 290 x 115 x 52 mm or even longer than it XLDF with proportions of 365 x 115 x 52 mm. New models of clinker and a wide range of colors and textures make it possible to realize even the most unusual projects.

Finally, the most important. The color, size or texture of the finish do not have the slightest impact on the properties and very good technical performance of ceramic elements. Regardless of color or shape, all bricks, clinker tiles and ceramic roof tiles are resistant to frost and harmful weather conditions, do not fade, have low absorption and high resistance to mechanical damage. Over a long period of use, clinker still looks great, as it shows UV resistance, does not fade and does not change color. It is very easy to keep it clean, and dirt from the facade can be washed off with water alone, without the use of detergents.

Choosing a clinker brick for the facade guarantees not only durability and a prestigious appearance, but above all, it has a positive effect on the thermal insulation of the building. Its undoubted advantage is also its low absorbency, thanks to which there is no risk of the appearance on the walls of, among others, fungi, moss or permanent dirt. In residential buildings, by far the most energy (about 70%) is used for space heating. Therefore, a special ally in the fight for low bills are building materials and construction solutions that will allow to retain heat in the house. The high insulating power of clinker bricks helps save energy, as the material has a favorable thermal conductivity coefficient. What's more, the brick has a high thermal storage capacity, which means that it accumulates heat and holds it for a long time. It also has greater resistance to fire and mechanical damage. This preserves the perfect appearance of the building for many years, but also makes it possible to reduce expenses on heating or repairs caused by dampness in the house.

Customers are currently most likely to opt for models with a unique grain pattern, maintained in shades of gray. Therefore, meeting the expectations of investors and designers, Röben's offer has been expanded to include MARGATE and SYDNEY clinkers in an extended format. Now, in addition to the classic NF and elongated LDF format , they are available in XLDF version (365×115×52 mm).

Also new to the range are MARGATE PEXLDF and SYDNEY PEXLDF clinker tiles , with dimensions of 365×14×52 mm. A wall erected with clinker in such a format gains a completely surprising design. It perfectly suits modern architectural designs. An interesting solution is also the combination of formats available in our offer, i.e. traditional with elongated ones.
