Wroclaw is a city that combines tradition and modernity in an exceptionally harmonious way. Its architectural landscape increasingly features investments in which clinker plays the role of a material defining the character of the building. Röben clinker bricks, used in projects such as the Czysta 4 apartment building or the Apartments at Szczytnicki Park, show that ceramics is not only a timeless aesthetic, but also a modern design tool.
Modern construction is increasingly turning to natural materials that allow architects to build consistency between tradition and contemporary form. Clinker fits perfectly into this philosophy - it is durable, resistant to time and weather conditions, and extremely malleable in design. In the case of the project at 4 Czysta Street, located in the center of the city, the AARHUS WHITE GRAY clinker tile from Röben's range has become a key element of the facade, which emphasizes the rhythm of the openings and harmoniously corresponds with the urban context.

The Czysta 4 project, under construction in the center of Wroclaw, includes 183 apartments in 1- to 4-room layouts, each unit with a balcony, terrace or garden. The building has 6 floors above ground, and the program includes a rooftop viewing terrace, coworking space, service units, bicycle parking, a garage hall and smart home solutions.

For an architect, two aspects are key: detail and context. Ceramics is a material that can accentuate the rhythm of window openings, emphasize the horizontal and vertical accents of the facade, and create boundaries between parts of the building (e.g., service and residential floors). Clinker also allows for subtle treatments of light and shadow modeling on the facade.

Context and matter - architecture that does not age visually
In contemporary architecture, longevity of material is of particular importance - both in terms of durability and aesthetics. Röben clinker bricks are resistant to UV radiation, frost, moisture and pollution, which means they retain their appearance for decades. This is important not only in historic buildings, but also in modern developments that are to age "with class."
In projects such as Apartments at Szczytnicki Park, CALAIS clinker was used in a subtle way - it creates an elegant background for glazing and aluminum details, and its color inscribes the building into the natural greenery of the park.

The project, located at 1C Różycki Avenue, replaced an older office and warehouse development in the immediate vicinity of the park. The site includes 10 low-rise buildings (with 4 above-ground floors and one underground floor) with 133 residential units ranging in size from 41 to 126 m². The central courtyard is equipped with a sculpture by Oskar Zięta, which is meant to dialogue with the park's surroundings and refer to the city's symbolism.
From an urban planning point of view, the development seeks to be a bridge between nature and the city: the facades of the buildings face the park, and the glass roof terraces emphasize the residents' relationship with the green surroundings. The developer declares that the facade materials have been selected with an emphasis on durability and aesthetics - including clinker tiles in a warm shade of sandstone.

Aesthetics and technology - design flexibility
For architects, it's not just appearance that matters, but also design freedom. A wide range of formats, from traditional NF to long LDF clinkers, and a diverse color palette - from classic red to modern shades of gray and black - make it possible to create facades to suit any context. Röben clinker bricks and tiles can be used in both traditional layouts and modern vertical ties. The diversity of textures (smooth, fluted, scratched) allows to shape the play of light and shadow on the surface of the facade, which significantly enriches the perception of the block.
Natural durability and ecology
Ceramics is a natural material, formed from clay fired at high temperatures. As a result, clinker brick facades not only look elegant, but also support the idea of sustainable design - they are resistant, maintenance-free and fully recyclable. Combined with modern clinker tile fixing systems, they are a durable, aesthetic and environmentally friendly solution.
Röben clinker - a material that builds identity
In projects such as Czysta 4 or Apartments at Szczytnicki Park , clinker is no longer just a detail. It is a material that shapes a building's architectural identity, its relationship with the surroundings and the viewer. Röben clinker bricks allow architects to consciously operate with color, texture and rhythm - creating architecture that is durable, noble and full of authentic expression.
