Gas that doesn't limit interior design concepts

24 of August '26

From the series “Kitchen and Appliances — Trends for 2026”

A gas range no longer has to mean visible burners, bulky grates, and a design that dominates the entire kitchen layout. SOLGAZ combines cost-effective gas supply with the aesthetics of contemporary interiors. It allows architects, designers, and developers to treat the cooking area as a cohesive element of the design, rather than a technical compromise.

Gas in a Modern Form

The contemporary kitchen is increasingly becoming part of an open living area. Its fixtures must meet both functional needs and interior design principles: the style of the cabinetry and the choice of materials. A classic gas stove with protruding burners, grates, and knobs can be difficult to visually integrate into such a design.

SOLGAZ flameless gas cooktops feature modern catalytic burners hidden beneath smooth ceramic surfaces, equipped with useful functions and a touchscreen control panel. The appliance can blend discreetly into a minimalist kitchen with a stone countertop or an island. The gas cooktop doesn’t disappear, but it no longer dominates the interior.

The effect is particularly noticeable where the countertop is meant to remain a calm, uniform surface. The black surface can contrast with light-colored stone, almost disappear into dark conglomerate, or bring order to the composition of a wooden island. The gas range remains a cooking appliance, but visually it functions as a precisely placed design detail within the interior.

How does gas work under glass?

In SOLGAZ cooktops, gas is burned beneath a ceramic surface, without a visible, open flame. The process takes place at temperatures reaching up to 800 °C. The appliance operates cyclically: it activates the burner when the temperature needs to be raised and turns it off once the desired level is reached.

This is also how the additional cooking zone—a distinctive feature of SOLGAZ cooktops—works. There is no separate burner beneath it; instead, it utilizes recovered heat. It can maintain the temperature, allow food to simmer gently, or keep previously prepared dishes warm or help yeast dough rise. According to the manufacturer, the combination of an innovative catalytic gas combustion method, cyclic operation, and heat recovery reduces gas consumption during cooking by up to 50% compared to a traditional gas stove.

This is a different way of cooking than with induction or an open flame. At first, the cooktop needs time to heat up the ceramic surface; later, it operates steadily and utilizes the accumulated heat.

The uniform surface, free of grates and nooks, simplifies cleaning. The absence of an open flame also reduces the buildup of greasy, sticky residue on pots, walls, and furniture. The cooking area stays neat and tidy longer, which is particularly important in kitchens that open onto the living room. It’s worth explaining this feature to the client when presenting the design.

From a compact kitchenette to a premium kitchen

SOLGAZ’s product line caters to various floor areas, layout configurations, and user needs. OPTIMEX is the most versatile family of glass-top gas cooktops. It includes models ranging from a compact 2+1 layout with a width of 33 cm, through 3+1 and 4+1 models with a width of 60 cm, to a 4+2 variant with a width of 77 cm. The appliance can therefore be selected for both a small kitchenette and a kitchen where multiple dishes are cooked simultaneously.

The PURE line takes this concept further toward visual lightness. The seamless surface and minimalist design complement cabinetry characterized by a reduction in detail. SMART, on the other hand, is part of an intelligent kitchen system. The “Hob to Hood” feature enables wireless communication between the cooktop and compatible SOLGAZ range hoods, which automatically adjust their operation to the intensity of cooking. Thus, the customer receives not a set of separate appliances, but a fully integrated SMART system.

The most advanced offering is the FUTURA PRO line. It features quiet plasma ignition and precise temperature control from 50 to 250 °C—a capability no other gas cooktop manufacturer offers. The Booster quickly increases heating intensity, while Stop & Go makes it easy to pause and resume operation. The line is available in 60- and 77-cm-wide variants, including the FUTURA PRO SLIM and FUTURA PRO SLIM MAT models, which can be adapted to various premium kitchen designs.

Benefits for Design and Investment

The benefits of using SOLGAZ extend beyond the aesthetics of a single kitchen. In residential developments, a flameless gas cooktop helps set the offering apart from apartments equipped with traditional gas cooktops: it retains an economical energy source while giving the cooking area a modern, streamlined look. The extensive product range allows you to select a solution tailored to the floor area, layout, and standard of the development —from compact apartments and family homes to premium apartments. Developers can thus establish a consistent standard of amenities across the entire project, varying hob models without compromising on technology or design consistency.

Safety That Works in the Background

Gas is sometimes perceived as an energy source that requires caution. SOLGAZ cooktops operate in a closed, controlled system without an open flame. Burners located beneath the cooktop limit contact with hot components, and the combustion process is monitored by sensors and safety systems. SOLGAZ flameless cooktops offer predictability and an added sense of safety.

What should an architect consider in the design?

A glass-top gas cooktop requires adequate space under the countertop, as specified in the technical drawing for the particular model. A gas connection, proper ventilation, and the required installation clearances must be provided. The appliance can be installed in a kitchen line or on an island, and select models are designed to be flush with the countertop.

The type of gas is also important. SOLGAZ cooktops are compatible with every type of gas available in Poland —including natural gas from the mains, as well as LPG and propane. This allows designers to incorporate the technology into both apartments with a municipal gas supply and homes with a gas cylinder or an on-site storage tank.

Who is SOLGAZ for?

SOLGAZ is for those who don’t want to choose between design and gas. It’s the perfect solution wherever a project calls for gas—from the municipal gas network, LPG, or propane—and a traditional gas stove doesn’t fit the interior’s aesthetic. It’s a solution for apartments, houses, rental units, and real estate development projects.

Various hob layouts, smart features, and design lines allow you to choose an appliance that suits your cooking style, interior aesthetics, or design standards. Wherever gas is available, SOLGAZ gives it a modern look, combining easy cleaning, high aesthetics, and an economical energy source.

A complete system—more than just a cooktop

It’s easier to maintain a cohesive look when appliances don’t compete with one another in terms of design and operation. That’s why the range of cooktops is complemented by cabinet, chimney, and island-style range hoods, as well as gas and electric ovens. Hob to Hood range hoods are compatible with the brand’s cooktops. The oven lineup includes both modern gas models and electric appliances that combine several functions, such as baking, grilling, microwaving, and steaming.
