Within the historic walls of the Princes' Stables in Szczecin, an interior concept has been created that combines a love of sound, design and the heritage of the place. It is more than a bar - it is a space for dialogue between architecture and music. The project called "Murmur" is a student proposal by Julia Rapacz, implemented at the Faculty of Interior Design and Scenography at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. The project was created as part of the Interior Design class under the direction of Dr. Krzysztof Bizio and Martyna Miłowska.

two zones - one experience

The project involves transforming the interior of a historic building into an intimate bar with a unique musical character, offering not only a taste experience, but also a space for conscious contact with sound. The interior was divided into two interpenetrating functional zones - the bar and the audiophile zone. The whole was maintained in the spirit of a subtle combination of modernity and respect for the past.

The bar area is the heart of the premises - it is vibrant, energetic, warm. Attention is drawn to the expressive color palette: shades of red, orange, dark navy blue and beige build mood and coziness. Against the background of these colors , amber glass, natural wood and hand-formed ceramics stand out, adding character to the interior. The central design element is an organic ceiling with LED backlighting, rippling over the entire space like a sound visualization. It is not only a decoration, but also a symbol - an architectural metaphor for the sound wave hovering over the guests.

Also attracting attention in the bar area is a large rack of vinyl records, which creates a bridge between the gastronomic and musical functions. The brass counter, solid, sculptural islands and soft upholstered fabrics add a timeless elegance to the interior.

immersed in sound

The second part of the venue is an audiophile zone, designed for people who want to experience music more consciously. It's a hushed space, with room for conversations about sound, listening, and purchasing and renting vinyl records. Here you'll find stands with turntables and music accessories, as well as browse a collection of physical sound media.

Deep in this area is an intimate listening room, designed to provide maximum focus and comfort. Comfortable armchairs, dimmed light and fabric muted interiors promote contemplation - a place for those who and who want not just to hear music, but to experience it.

respect for history

The project does not cut itself off from the place's past, but respects and develops it. Brick vaults, original construction details and the rawness of the historic fabric provide a backdrop for modern design elements. The contrast of materials and textures - glass versus ceramic, brass versus wood - tells a story of transformation, in which local identity has an important place.

"Murmur" is a place that not only serves drinks and sounds, but above all builds a community - open, conscious, immersed in analog culture. It is a space for those who seek not noise, but quality - in music, in conversation, in spending time.
