Dry and warm house made of expanded clay balls

For construction, it is best to choose proven materials that give great comfort in the use of the building. Aerated concrete are large blocks from which walls grow in sight. Ceramic blocks are elements proven over many centuries. Castles and churches do not stand the test of time. Silicates are materials used mainly in multifamily buildings, where walls that acoustically insulate neighbor from neighbor are very important. You can also build with Leca BLOK, which combines most of the properties of the mentioned products.

Excellent material

The Leca BLOK 24 block is a large piece of expanded clay concrete. Keramzite is clay balls fired in rotary kilns, and the fired clay is ceramic. Walls made of 24 cm wide blocks currently require a layer of thermal insulation of mineral wool or polystyrene foam only 14 cm thick. And nothing more! Let's not "overheat" our homes. We have more and more hot summer months, and less and less cold long winters. Keramzitobeton blocks of the Leca BLOK system are characterized by very good vapor permeability. The walls dry out very quickly, and only dry material is a good thermal insulator. Fast drying also means that there is no possibility of condensation, which could cause fungus in the walls. To insulate buildings, it is worth using mineral wool, which is a non-flammable material. It does not retain moisture, helping the walls to dry out after construction and during the use of the house.

A good solution for any climate

These positive properties of walls made of expanded concrete have been noticed by residents of both cool Scandinavia and hot Portugal or Spain. In both of these extremely different climates, houses made of expanded clay-based blocks have proven themselves for decades. They perform very well in humid climates in coastal areas, for example.
In Poland, Manufacturers of Leca BLOK System products also offer other elements made of expanded clay concrete such as; foundation blocks, blocks for acoustic walls, blocks for partition walls, lintel and tie beam fittings, chimney and ventilation systems, Teriva ceilings and other elements necessary for the construction of a house. Cooperation with one Manufacturer-supplier simplifies the process of purchasing basic materials for the construction of the building shell. It is easier to agree on supplies and negotiate prices.

The most popular solution is a 2-layer wall.

Leca BLOK MATERIALS for 2-layer walls with U up to 0.20 W/(m2K).
