RE: NERO HOUSE or deep black

08 of November '21

The house was designed by REFORM Architects. Composed of several diverse solids, RE: NERO HOUSE is an attempt at a new look at color.

deep black

RE: NERO HOUSE is a house consisting of a minimalist ensemble of solids that are characterized by one thing: deep black. The dominant color of the facade is the point of distinction of the entire building, creating its unified character. The material used for RE: NERO HOUSE - Allucobond black, has appeared in other projects by the architect, including RE: ON THE ROCK HO USE and RE: PERFECT HOUSE. Black as the dominant color of the facade has already appeared in another project of the studio, RE: DARK HOUSE. In the case of RE: NERO HOUSE, the texture of the material chosen for the facades is a smooth black with white cracks reminiscent of a marble slab.

Another important element of the house is the glazing of the building, giving it lightness. Composed of several different solids, the building creates a horizontal unity. As in many of the house projects created by REFORM Architekt, RE: NERO HOUSE is characterized by a minimalist body and a flat roof. On more than one occasion, the architects have taken on more difficult challenges, such as the V-shaped house in RE: VMAX HOUSE or the design reminiscent of Brda summer cottages in RE: BRRDA HOUSE, which we wrote about in the October issue of Architecture & Business magazine.

Questions about the house were answered by architect Marcin Tomaszewski of Reform Architekt:

Wiktor Bochenek: What is the area of the house?

Marcin Tomaszewski: The area of the house is 800 m².

Wiktor: Were there any restrictions affecting the form in connection with the project?

The color along with the glazing creates a unified whole

Marcin Tomaszewski: No. I assume that each of my projects must be realizable without unnecessary compromises and technological limitations.

Wiktor: Why such a choice of materials?

Marcin Tomaszewski: The choice of materials is the result of what color the facade was to be. Allucobond black is a material that I often use in my projects.

Wiktor: Where did the idea for this shade come from?

Marcin Tomaszewski: The investors are firmly established in this style. You can see it especially in their closet. I come from the assumption that everything must fit together and everything must be consistent with each other. When designing a house - he creates a form that responds to the needs, lifestyle and what his clients like. The design must relate to the investor's character.
