Amphibia is an innovative new-generation multi-layer waterproofing membrane designed to protect underground structures from water, moisture and the passage of gases such as radon and methane. Application on cavity walls

The choice of Amphibia guarantees investors full waterproofing of the structure, as the membrane eliminates lateral migration of water and maintains watertightness even in the event of mechanical damage, puncturing with rebar or local deformation of the substrate. The reactive core of the membrane swells in contact with water, generating a constant sealing pressure that protects the structure during the building's operation and service. From the designer's point of view, Amphibia represents a coherent and technologically advanced system matched with Volteco solutions and accessories, which facilitates detail design, guarantees the watertightness of all installation penetrations, and allows new structures to be securely connected to existing ones thanks to full adhesion to concrete.

Application on formwork

For contractors, Amphibia means fast, convenient and safe cold installation, allowing immediate inspection of the correctness of the placement. The membrane is characterized by workability and easy adaptation to the geometry of the object, and its laps self-seal, minimizing the risk of execution errors during reinforcement and concreting. The system is characterized by high mechanical resistance, which reduces the possibility of damage during further stages of construction.

Application on the ground or lean-to

Amphibia is distinguished by its full watertightness even with rapidly changing groundwater levels. Its active layers - ACTIVE BARRIER and CORE - react to the presence of moisture, swelling in a controlled and sealing manner. The membrane retains adhesion to reinforced concrete structures, forming a uniform insulation system without the risk of water migration between the concrete and the membrane. Compatibility with other Volteco systems makes it possible to create common detailing solutions, increasing the safety and predictability of the waterproofing system.

Sealing details

The Amphibia system is used in the insulation of slabs and foundation walls, diaphragm walls, any type of sheet piling, foundation tamping, restoration of masonry of historic buildings, tunnel structures, tanks, shafts, floors on the ground and in buildings exposed to ground gas penetration. In practice, the membrane performs well in particularly demanding areas, such as anchor zones and structural joints, where it can be pierced with rebar without losing its tightness. During wall undercutting and foundation shoring, the membrane maintains waterproofing continuity, and in heterogeneous masonry, characteristic of historic structures, it provides a complete barrier against water and moisture.

Trench sealing

The uniqueness of Amphibia lies in its active action: the membrane "works" with the structure, and its layers, when in contact with water, swell and generate sealing pressure that protects the object even in case of perforations, damage, structural work or emerging cracks. As a result, Amphibia remains fully effective throughout the life of the building, ensuring the highest level of waterproofing safety.
