Architecture without limits - how to take your project to the next level

01 of July '25

For years, the APAKASTA studio has specialized in modern housing solutions by combining bold forms with precise construction techniques. The author of the "Dwie Stodoły" project, architect Katarzyna Starzyk, tells us how she achieved both exceptional visual effect and full satisfaction of the premium client through cooperation with Galeco.

A&B: How do you think contemporary residential architecture in Poland will evolve, and what role can innovative solutions such as Galeco systems play in this process?

Katarzyna Starzyk:Polish residential architecture is getting bolder and bolder in moving away from patterns. Customers are more aware, they expect personalized solutions and high quality. In this context, products such as those offered by Galeco become not only a response to technical needs, but also a tool to create quality and uniqueness in a project.

A&B: What made you choose the Galeco BEZOKAPOWY system in the "Dwa Stodoły" project and how did it fit into the vision of a "modern barn"?

Katarzyna Starzyk:I wanted a distinctive yet simplified body - one that is modern, but alludes to the archetype of a traditional barn. The key element was to hide all the details that could disturb the purity of the form. The Galeco BEZ OKAPOWY system allowed the gutters to be completely hidden in the facade, which significantly increased the aesthetics of the block and gave it a contemporary, elegant character.

A&B: How did the use of concealed gutters for roofs without eaves affect the visual effect, prestige of the investment and customer satisfaction?

Katarzyna Starzyk:The use of the hidden gutter system in the "Dwa Stodoły" project was crucial to achieve a consistent, minimalist body of the building. The lack of traditional eaves allowed us to emphasize the modern character of the house and achieve the effect of "clean" architecture - devoid of unnecessary elements that could disrupt the form. For the client, the investment thus gained a prestigious, sophisticated character - exactly what he expected from a premium project. Minimalism does not mean giving up functionality - on the contrary, the Galeco system made it possible to achieve a perfect combination of aesthetics with a practical technical solution, which resulted in complete satisfaction of the investor.

A&B: How important is it for an architect to be able to supervise the implementation of a project, and how does Galeco support this process by ensuring that the workmanship is in line with the design?

Katarzyna Starzyk:The possibility of supervision is one of the key stages for me - this is when the project begins to "live" in the space. Galeco, with its flexibility and technical support on site, helps ensure that all the assumptions are properly implemented. In practice, this means fewer changes during construction and better final quality.

A&B: What specific benefits - from the increase in project value to the effective implementation of bold forms - did your cooperation with Galeco bring you?

Katarzyna Starzyk:Working with Galeco allows me to design with more freedom - I know that their technical systems are well thought out and support bold architectural solutions. This makes projects more valuable, visually consistent and more competitive in the premium market.

A&B: Some time ago Galeco introduced the DACHRYNNA roof and gutter system. How do you evaluate the potential of this solution and do you plan to use this system in future projects?

Katarzyna Starzyk:The DACHRYNNA system is a very interesting proposition, especially for investments with high aesthetic and utility requirements. I appreciate the fact that the form of the gutter has been integrated with the roofing - this is another step towards "clean" architecture. I definitely plan to test this solution in one of my upcoming projects.
