GLIKA is a Polish brand with a long tradition, whose history dates back to the 1920s, when one of the first local ceramic manufactories began to operate in Ogrodzieniec - on the site of the current headquarters. After World War II, a brick factory was established on the same site, which in time became a pillar of local construction development.

Craftsmanship supported by automation

To this day, we still make sure that the classic approach to ceramics is harmoniously combined with modern technology. Each brick is created through a fusion of craftsmanship, years of experience and true passion. Our products are characterized by high quality, durability and unique character.

With single-family construction and individual investors in mind, we created Aurablok - the only brick on the Polish market made of 90% pure, natural clay. The remaining 10% is a cooling additive, which significantly affects the high quality of the product.

What follows is that Aurablok is also the block with the highest net density on the market - 1910 kg/m3. Water absorption in Aurablok is only 9%, which makes it compared with the parameters of 18 - 20% for expanded clay, 30% for silicates or 40% for cellular concrete the most durable and trouble-free when it comes to bonding with cement-lime mortar.

The only natural ceramic block on the market

Such a high clay content means that walls made of Aurablok store heat in the winter and give it back gradually to the building's interior, whichhelps maintain a stable temperature and reduce heating costs, while in the summer they stay cool at nightand don't allow the interiors to heat up during the day.

Equally importantly, Aurablok has a strength class of 20 (average strength of 20.8 N/mm2), which makes it possible to erect even 4-story buildings without the need for a reinforced concrete frame, significantly reducing construction costs.

In addition, Aurablok is not included in the group of porous ceramics, which is due to a different production technology and controlled raw material composition, ensuring a compact and homogeneous structure of the material. At the same time, it is worth noting that in porous products, the increased pore content - achieved through organic or waste additives that burn off during firing - is associated with a lower proportion of the clay fraction and a decrease in structural integrity. It is this characteristic that makes porous parts easier to machine, including grinding.

Consistent quality starts with natural raw material

In the case of Aurablok, the lack of intentionally produced porosity translates into greater compactness of the material and stability of its performance, so there is no need for additional processing or supplementary solutions such as installation foams.

At GLIKA, we believe that a house is not just walls, but also a microclimate, so it makes sense to build a house with natural raw materials that promote health and improve the comfort of the residents - not just make construction work easier. Aurablok has a clinker brick structure - compact, smooth and non-absorbent, which provides a guarantee of healthy, dry air, without the risk of mold and mildew growth.

Thanks to the high density of clay, we are able to create a sparse block structure with heavy walls (while still maintaining high compressive strength), which translates into the highest percentage of openings in relation to the material. This in turn results in a very good thermal insulation coefficient (EN 1745:2012).

Ceramic block S-BLOK PRO

Our second flagship product is the S-BLOK PRO ceramic hollow block with a compressive strength class of 25 N/mm2 (Kl.25) and a normalized strength of 29.5 N/mm2, designed for the construction of load-bearing and structural walls in masonry technology. The material is used in multi-family housing, service and industrial buildings, as well as schools, kindergartens and public and infrastructure buildings.

It is the only ceramic hollow block in Europe with such a class of strength, which allows the construction of buildings up to 8 floors without the need for a reinforced concrete frame, while maintaining the required structural safety provision.

The use of masonry technology makes it possible to reduce the use of concrete and reinforcing steel, shorten construction time and simplify the design and construction process, which translates into an average of 20% savings on each investment.

S-Blok PRO outperforms silicate products in its strength class in terms of performance. It is characterized by a lower volumetric mass of masonry, which directly affects the reduction of structural loads, as well as more favorable thermal insulation properties. In addition, the material shows better machinability, higher actual compressive strength and lower water absorption, which translates into greater durability and structural uniformity of the partition. An important aspect is also the improved interaction of the masonry element with mortar, resulting in greater joint cohesion.

S-Blok PRO ensures a more uniform masonry-mortar system, reducing the risk of structural cracks and fractures often seen in silicate masonry. The economic benefits are already apparent at the foundation stage, where it is possible to reduce the required cross sections and the consumption of construction materials thanks to the lower dead weight of the masonry.
