In Poland, NOE-PL , a long-established supplier of high-quality NOEplast and NOEliner concrete texturing matrices, is expanding its system with innovative solutions from the Finnish company Graphic Concrete. Until now, the NOEplast and NOEliner system has been based on the production of polyurethane and PVC molds with which formwork was lined, enabling the achievement of textured concrete surfaces. The partnership with Graphic Concrete is an extension of this proven technology, opening up entirely new possibilities for the visual design of concrete. With this partnership, architects and designers gain even more freedom to create unique and aesthetically pleasing facades and concrete elements.

Brief general information about the product

The inspiration behind Graphic Concrete was to create a truly industrial product for large-scale concrete surfaces that would allow architects to explore greater visual possibilities. The method, patented in February 1999, was named Graphic Concrete. The product and its production method came out of a research and development project initiated in 2000 by Samuli Naamanka, Veli-Pekka Rydenfelt and D. Tech. Risto Mannonen. Together they founded Graphic Concrete Ltd.

This method offers high-quality solutions and textures for architecture and interior design. Graphic Concrete is produced in precast concrete or glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) plants using specially coated paper. It is a surface treatment for concrete that opens up versatile visual possibilities. Its competitive advantage lies in its low production costs, improved work safety and the numerous graphic alternatives it offers. As a unique industrial product, Graphic Concrete meets the requirements of modern architecture. Graphic Concrete Ltd. contributes to the construction process at all stages - from planning, to casting, to construction phases, until the final concrete surfaces are unveiled and made available to the public.

With our recent reference projects, we are demonstrating the numerous possibilities our product offers in the field of precast concrete construction. Our product, a specialized paper, is designed for precast work or projects and does not affect the installation process.

Environmental aspect

Graphic Concrete's paper is fully recyclable through energy recycling and is safe to use in the prefabrication process. The chemicals used to print the designs on the paper are harmless and do not cause any damage on contact.

Product composition

Our product consists of paper used in the concrete prefabrication process. The desired image is printed on the paper with a surface retarder, and then the paper is sent to a local precast concrete factory or GFRC. The concrete is poured onto the paper, and after the retarder is washed off, the image is revealed. The image is created by the contrast between the smooth surface and the exposed aggregate surface. Clean Graphic Concrete® paper is always recyclable, either through paper recycling or as energy waste.

Technical aspects (wear, sound, durability)

Our product, used in the precast concrete process, ensures that the surface obtained with it is as durable and strong as the concrete itself. The surface pattern has a depth of less than one millimeter, which does not affect the durability of the concrete. The only technical limitation regarding Graphic Concrete is that it works best on precast concrete surfaces (precast concrete structures or GFRC) and works optimally with a vacuum table.
