Let's take a closer look at the more than 90-square-meter apartment, designed for influencer couple Weronika Jaguś and Patrick Szczepanik. Weronika Mateja, founder of Mateja Design, is responsible for arranging the Warsaw apartment. The project is a story about an interior full of warmth, light and structures.

apartment closed in frames
As Weronika says, the key word in the project is balance. The investors wanted to create a space designed for both living and working. They dreamed of an arrangement that would look aesthetically pleasing on camera and allow for content creation - the interior was to be the perfect backdrop for YouTube or Instagram videos. On the other hand, the couple wanted a warm, cozy and functional apartment that is comfortable to live in and that they want to return to.

play of light and structures
The base of the design is light, calm colors - whites, beiges and browns and natural, structured materials. Weronika opted for soft fabrics, stone and wood with a distinct grain, which add character to the interior. Light is also extremely important - it builds the atmosphere, which changes depending on the time of day. Rounded forms, various textures and the play of light and shadow make the interior not flat, but gives a three-dimensional effect, which the designer wanted.

design challenges
Although the investors wanted a subdued and calm interior, they love color. They managed to smuggle it in mainly in accessories - lamps, glass, or multicolored graphics, which add character, but do not change the designer's idea.

The layout of the apartment proved to be a challenge, but since the project was created during the construction phase, it could afford to knock down walls and rearrange the space. The interior was designed from scratch, thus changing the location of the bathroom, kitchen and main functional areas. As a result, it was possible to meet all the clients' requirements and adapt the apartment to their needs and lifestyle.

Three cats live in the apartment, so practical solutions are a must have. The focus was on durability of materials and comfort of use going hand in hand with aesthetics.

solutions that connect
The designer opted for the use of rounded forms, such as sofas, armchairs and wall arches, which are the element that binds all the rooms together.

The living area uses massive designer chairs, upholstered in a soft, tactile fabric. Similarly with the sofa and armchair, standing opposite the RTV wall, covered with a structural plaster imitating rock. The bright color scheme of the interior was broken with accessories in colors of muted orange, maroon or green. Weronika introduced a play of structures in the room, combining the interesting texture of the carpet, the grain of the wood and the smoothness of the other materials.

opposites attract
The influencers' work spaces were designed on the principle of contrast. Veronica's room is dominated by beiges and pastels and accessories in powder pink. Light plaster with a warm hue was used on both the walls and the suspended ceiling. Rounded, soft forms add femininity to the room.

Patrick's room relies on cool shades of gray and dark browns. The structure of the furniture transitions gently into a ceiling that resembles a huge truss. The geometric shapes are disturbed by the placement of a huge slab of black decorative stone with golden-bronze spit in the central part of the development. A leather sofa and sculptural decorations add an exclusive touch to the interior.

the role of light
An important part of the arrangement is the backlighting of the walls, ceilings and furniture. Through the use of white, warm light, the structure of stone and wood was highlighted and a cozy atmosphere was introduced into the apartment.

According to Veronika, "This is a project where the camera enjoys every frame - but the most important thing is that it works just as well when the lights go out and the apartment simply becomes a home." The apartment in the capital is an example of an interior where a subdued color scheme is not synonymous with boredom.
