Ventilation solution tailored to individual preferences

23 of February '26

Today's modular and prefabricated building sector is looking for solutions that combine maximum functionality with minimum installation effort. Swedish manufacturer QVANTUM, which is setting new standards in the HVAC industry, offers solutions that combine Scandinavian reliability with breakthrough performance. The Qvantum QE ventilation heat pump, offered in 4 kW and 6 kW power variants, is the precise answer to the needs of energy-efficient construction, where every square centimeter of space and high system efficiency counts.

One unit, four systems: all-in-one technology

Qvantum QE is not just a heat source. It is a complete, integrated machine room enclosed in a compact housing that occupies just 0.36 m² of floor space. The unit performs four key building functions:

  • Space heating (surface or fan coils).
  • Cooling of the building during the summer.
  • Ventilation with energy recovery (recuperation).
  • Preparation of domestic hot water (DHW) in a flow-through manner.

A key aspect is the use of energy from exhaust air. In traditional gravity ventilation systems, the energy stored inside the building is irretrievably removed to the outside. The Qvantum QE, thanks to a refrigeration module with an inverter-controlled compressor, recovers this energy and transfers it to the heating system or hot water cylinder, making the system extremely efficient in buildings with low heat demand.

Saving space inside and outside the building

One of the most significant technical features of the QE model is the complete lack of installation of an outdoor unit. The entire energy exchange process takes place inside the unit, which brings a number of technical and legal advantages, especially important in dense buildings:

  • No external noise: The absence of external fans eliminates the problem of exceeding noise standards at the plot boundary, which is often a barrier in the design of terraced house estates.
  • Simplified installation: The lack of refrigeration piping between units and the absence of the problem of condensate drainage outside the building speeds up the investment process.
  • Space-saving: The investor gains a clean façade and additional space in the garden or on the terrace, which does not have to be reserved for the foundation for a split or monoblock pump.

A ventilation solution tailored to individual preferences

The Qvantum QE heat pump is designed to match different technical standards and project budgets, so it can operate in two variants of building ventilation.

Basic (exhaust) variant: The pump draws the used air from the so-called dirty rooms (kitchen, bathroom, toilet). A controlled negative pressure is created in the building, which forces the inflow of fresh air through wall or window ventilators. Energy from the exhaust air is recovered by a heat pump, and the building is continuously ventilated.

Full variant (supply and exhaust with QS module): With the optional QS module, the system becomes full-fledged mechanical ventilation. The QS module is equipped with an additional supply fan and a hydraulic heater. Fresh outside air, before it enters the rooms, is preheated with energy previously recovered from exhaust air. This eliminates the need to install a separate outdoor recuperator.

Energy storage and control of the future (FlexReady technology)

The QE heat pump, thanks to Qvantum's patented solution, has a built-in 175-liter accumulation tank, which we can treat as a thermal battery and use for DHW heating and central heating.

Thanks to advanced automation and API protocol, the pump is ready to work with dynamic electricity tariffs. The thermal battery can store water up to 90°C, i.e. accumulate energy during periods of low electricity prices or when there is a surplus of electricity production from the photovoltaic system. The heat stored in this way is used during hours when electricity is much more expensive, drastically reducing building operating costs.

Domestic hot water, on the other hand, is heated in a flow-through manner by an efficient plate heat exchanger. Such a system eliminates the risk of Legionella bacteria development and at the same time allows to dispense with another additional element of the system, which is a diaphragm vessel for domestic water.

Intelligent control and remote service

Qvantum QE automation is equipped with WiFi and Bluetooth modules as standard. This not only enables user control from a mobile app or color touchscreen, but most importantly provides remote service care. The online platform allows real-time monitoring of operating parameters and automatic software updates, which, in the case of modern prefabricated construction, allows standardization of technical maintenance of entire estates.

Summary

The Qvantum QE ventilation heat pump is a technology created for modern construction, where installation time, minimization of space and maximum energy efficiency are important. By combining the functions of heating, ventilation and intelligent energy storage in a single indoor unit, the device is currently one of the most complete engineering solutions on the market.
