Communicating messages through light - this vision inspired Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and his team to develop the Alphabet of Light lighting system. An innovative modular lighting system was created in collaboration with Artemide.

The basic modules provide a base for arranging different shapes. They can be letters, straight or curved structures, single linear or circular elements - Alphabet of Light follows the architecture and functionality of the rooms. It uses an individual and emotional design language. The light modules can be freely combined and merged with connectors. The combined elements form shadowless units that emit absolutely uniform intense light.

The patented system is made of innovative materials with excellent optical properties. Two LED strips rest against a central aluminum core and emit light to opposite sides. The permeability and reflectivity of the materials, as well as the shapes of the inner and outer surfaces, are designed to ensure absolutely uniform light distribution and that the technical core of the element is invisible.

This creates infinite light structuresthat can adapt to any room. Just as simple and fun as it is to arrange light messages with the Alphabet of Light - installation is just as easy. The lighting system features great flexibility and simple operation. The entire configuration or individual groups of modules are dimmable or can be individually controlled via the Artemide app. With the Alphabet of Light configurator, which is available on the Artemide website, even more complex configurations can be conveniently planned.
