Who among us has not dreamed of having his own apartment by the sea? About an oasis of tranquility, where mornings start with a cup of aromatic coffee on the balcony overlooking the waves, and evenings pass in the glow of the setting sun? Just such a place was created in one of the seaside resorts - stylish and refined in every detail. Thanks to designers from the mJoy studio, the owner's dream of an elegant but cozy asylum became a reality. Here, the harmony of the interior is combined with the atmosphere of the coastal landscape, creating a space ideal for both relaxation and everyday life.
Comprehensive metamorphosis
The mJoy team was tasked with turning an interior that still remembers the 1990s into a cozy seaside retreat. The first step was to restore the space to developer condition. Old floors and tiles were removed, as well as an unused fireplace. Then, after a new electrical system was installed, lighting was installed to give the interior a cozy atmosphere. Subsequent stages included the execution of plastering. laying new floors and installing striking sintered tiles. The team focused on the details. High-quality wooden windows were preserved, but they gained new gold hardware and black handles. Veneered door frames were also made to match the furniture perfectly. The whole project was complemented by the careful furnishing of the apartment - from assembling the furniture, to connecting the household appliances, to hanging the window decorations.
- We created a space that is more than just a holiday apartment. It's a place where memories are born," stressed Renata Michalowicz of the mJoy design office.

Kitchen - a game of contrasts
The arrangement of the kitchenette is based on the contrast of black and white, which creates an extremely impressive yet elegant background for the rest of the interior. Black appears here in the form of quartz conglomerate countertops and backsplash. They are the main decorative element and at the same time set the style of the space. White appears in the form of some of the kitchen's built-ins. Bright fronts of cabinets and drawers make the space seem even more spacious and light. What's more, white surfaces reflect light, which enhances the feeling of cleanliness and freshness. A colorful break from the light-colored cabinetry is a dark showcase-style cabinet. Thanks to the use of glass, it does not overwhelm the built-in. On the contrary, it adds lightness to the entire arrangement and provides the perfect place to display tableware.

A wooden round table is the focal point of this dining area. The natural material furniture brings a touch of warmth to the subdued arrangement. The table is surrounded by upholstered chairs in a shade of black. The rounded forms of this furniture soften the sharpness of the geometric forms of the rest of the furnishings. The whole arrangement is complemented by designer lighting, which is both a functional and decorative element of the space. Minimalist pendant lamp with spherical shades in shades of black and white attracts attention and perfectly blends with the rest of the interior.
- This place has a soul. This can be felt as soon as you cross the threshold. We can see how the owner happily returns here with her loved ones to savor shared moments over meals or on the balcony," stresses Renata Michalowicz of mJoy.
Living room - a meeting place
The space was designed for shared moments spent with family, friends and acquaintances. Accordingly, the living room featured two sofa beds in a shade of bottle green. Right next to them stood two coffee tables. The edges of the furniture are curved. This solution ensures safety, while at the same time they give the interior a soft and cozy feel. Above one of the sofas hangs a hand-painted painting, which with its colors perfectly harmonizes with the whole arrangement. The whole is complemented by a waterproof floor that perfectly imitates wood.

Consciously giving up curtains and drapes in favor of modern roller blinds makes it possible to take full advantage of natural light, while providing intimacy when needed. Mosquito nets, on the other hand, effectively protect against insects without interfering with the view outside the window. Every detail here is thoughtfully designed to combine functionality with timeless elegance. It is worth noting the wall separating the living room from the bedroom. On the side of the lounge area it was finished with a dark wallpaper with an intriguing pattern depicting a night city with a starry sky. The patterned wallpaper was also applied to the parallel area in the bedroom. Thus, with the door open, we can see both decorative facings, which creates an interesting visual effect.

Bedroom - comfortable style in neutral colors
With its subdued colors and soft fabrics, the bedroom is distinguished by a cozy atmosphere. The focal point of the interior are two comfortable beds, which are connected by a striking headrest. The dark wood construction is complemented by soft quilting in a shade of light gray. In this way, both shades and materials create an intriguing contrast. A minimalist bedside table finished with a stone top was placed between the beds. The wall behind the bed was decorated with a striking wallpaper with a cloud pattern. The monochromatic color scheme of the facing subtly alludes to seascapes and rough waves, introducing a bit of dynamism to this calm arrangement. Also worthy of special attention is the designer ceiling lamp. The modern lighting model also has a hint of retro style. Shades made of milky white glass gently diffuse the light, creating a warm, atmospheric glow. The geometric form of the lamp blends perfectly with the whole arrangement, adding subtle elegance and harmony. It also managed to fit a capacious closet occupying one of the walls next to the bed.

Bathroom - marble elegance and warmth of wood
The bathroom is a space that combines luxurious design with the comfort of everyday use. Two materials are intertwined here - marble and wood. A simple white enclosure with contrasting veining gives the interior a luxurious feel. In addition, its smooth surface adds to the overall elegance and makes it easy to keep things tidy. In turn, warm wood, used for shelves and cabinet fronts, brings a cozy, natural touch to the bathroom, balancing the coolness of stone. Wooden accents create a subtle but important balance between elegance and functionality.

The minimalist built-in, however, does not fulfill only aesthetic, but primarily practical functions. It places a sink with a linear drain and hides a washing machine. Thanks to the open shelves, the space gains lightness, while at the same time the residents have easy access to the most frequently used items, such as towels, cosmetics and accessories. On the other hand, thoughtful details, such as elegant fixtures, mirrors with straight lines and minimalist accessories, emphasize the modern character of the space without overwhelming it with excessive splendor.

The sound of the sea, birds singing and morning coffee
An important place is the spacious balcony overlooking the treetops. It has almost become a separate room.
- We arranged the balcony in such a way that Ms. Ewa and her family would have a nice time there, relaxing on very comfortable chairs," the architect recalls.
So there were two dark armchairs equipped with soft seats and a simple table. There was also a practical canopy. This allows residents to enjoy their morning coffee to the accompaniment of the sound of the sea.
