Advantages of terrace roofing

If you like to spend a lot of time in the garden and regularly host parties, it's worth thinking about a solution that allows you to use the terrace more often. A canopy will not only extend this time from 3 months to even a whole year. It will also make it possible to stay on the terrace during the night. Another motivation for putting up a canopy, may be the location of our garden. If it is very sunny, it becomes impossible to use it during the day. What's more, many of us have accessories on the terrace that make the place cozier. Furniture with fabric elements, blankets, pillows, carpets. If we don't protect them from moisture, they will quickly mold.

What kind of roofing to choose?

Once you've decided that you need a canopy, it's worth thinking about what type of canopy will be suitable for you. The most popular and also the cheapest choice is an umbrella. Unfortunately, it has a small area. In addition, it is unstable. In unfavorable weather and strong winds, it will not only get damaged, but may also damage the objects around it. The awning is also not very stable. In addition, it will not fit every house. A roof extension is the most durable option. However, if we want to enclose a space that adjoins a living room that has windows facing only the terrace, a simple canopy will darken the room. A sail protects us from the sun, unfortunately, no longer from rain. Moreover, it is not always possible to fix it. The solution to these problems is the tarasola.

What is a tarasola?

Terasola is a fashionable combination of pergola and traditional roofing. It protects not only from rain and bad weather, but also from excessive sun. Because it works exactly like a pergola, it can be rolled up and unrolled. In addition, it provides protection from the wind. The pergola is supported by a structure that can be built-in. The roof, on the other hand, is covered with a weather-resistant material. It can be built with lamellas that rotate 135°. Thanks to this, we can decide how much sunlight will fall on the terrace. The lamellas thus function, just like blinds. They also resemble them in appearance. We can choose between wall-mounted or free-standing terraces . There are also two types of canopies: flat and sloping. We can also install retractable side covers. The terraces can withstand snow loads of up to 120 kg/m² and wind speeds of 160 km/h. Terasols are available in muted colors. So they will easily match any home. In addition, manufacturers offer tailor-made models.

Which material to choose?

Terasols are built from a solid construction of aluminum profiles. Powder coating makes them water-resistant, so they are also rustproof. Wooden structures are also available. These are usually chosen for their aesthetic qualities and to match the rest of the house. For the roof, too, there are several materials to choose from. Polycarbonate is a very durable plastic. It transmits light beautifully and is resistant to adverse weather conditions. It is easy to install. It does not discolor and is inexpensive. Wood will provide us with pleasant shade and good protection from the sun. In addition, it will make the terrace more cozy. It is an ideal choice for nature lovers. However, keep in mind that it requires regular impregnation. Aluminum is lightweight and durable, as well as resistant to water and rust. Terraces with aluminum fin roofs are among the most popular models. The structure can also be glazed. It will then create a winter garden. For this purpose, tempered glass with a thickness of 8, 10 or 12 mm is used. This material is relatively expensive, however it is extremely resistant to mechanical damage. It is extremely versatile. It fits into any facade and gives us room for flexibility in the subject of additions.

Useful functions

Tarasola, however, offers more than just roofing. We can install radiant heaters in it, which will allow us to use the terrace even in winter. Manufacturers also offer installation of an audio system and lighting. We also don't have to worry about bad weather. The weather sensor, when it detects the first drops of rain, will automatically unfurl the canopy without any interference. The TIMER function, on the other hand, increases security by simulating the presence of householders. Of course, in addition to these automatic functions, there is also the option of control. We can do it manually or automatically. In the second case, we have the choice of a remote control or a mobile app. Thanks to it, we have the possibility to control the terrace even while being away from home. All we need is access to the internet. We can also design a daily ritual of using the terraces by programming the hours when the roof will open, the blinds will uncover and the lighting will turn on.
