Thermal modernization with STEICOflex resilient natural wood fiber mats

Thermal modernization is the only way to increase thermal comfort in old, underheated buildings. If the elements exposed to cooling - walls, ceiling or roof have not been properly insulated, it is worthwhile to make an additional layer of thermal insulation, which will effectively prevent heat loss and reduce the costs incurred for heating the air during the heating period.

Protection against cold and heat

Renovation work will bring tangible benefits if the additional insulation layer is used efficiently. Paradoxically - a thicker layer of thermal insulation will not always better protect the building from heat loss. More important than the thickness of the thermal insulation layer are the thermal conductivity parameters of the material from which it will be made. Low thermal conductivity means better thermal insulation. STEICOflex036 has the lowest thermal conductivity among all known natural thermal insulation materials - 0.036 [W/(m*K)]. In addition, due to its high density of about 60 kg/m3 and very high specific heat c 2100 J/kgK, it offers particularly high thermal inertia. This optimum combination protects rooms from overheating in summer. As a result, the materials STEICO CEE Sp. z o.o. make it possible to relax comfortably in pleasantly cool rooms, even on the hottest days of summer.

Acoustic insulation

STEICOflex 036 mats provide excellent protection against airborne sounds. Low-frequency sounds are effectively suppressed by the outer and inner layer of thermal insulation.

Diffusion openness

Like all STEICO thermal insulation materials, STEICOflex 036 is also a diffusion-open and sorptive material. By intelligently managing moisture transfer, STEICO wood fiber insulation materials prevent the formation of free condensation water. The building structure remains permanently protected from the harmful effects of moisture.

Secure adhesion and protection against settlement

With STEICOflex 036 mats, which do not need to be installed, you can minimize the inconvenience of renovation work, and carry out thermal upgrading very efficiently. It is enough to press the mats between the structural elements of the partition to be insulated. Thanks to their porous structure and elasticity, they adapt to the adjacent building elements, accurately and permanently adhere to the insulated surfaces. Due to their high density, the mats are stable and retain their original shape, and the thermal insulation layer made of them does not settle over the years.

Climate protection: stores up to 85 kg of CO2 perm3

Each cubic meter of STEICOflex mats cleans 85 kg of CO2 from the atmosphere. Building and insulating with wood is a simple yet highly effective climate protection measure.
