Sometimes the layout of our house or apartment gives us no choice. We have to arrange a bedroom in an interior that does not have a window. However, with a good arrangement, we can offset this problem and even use the advantages of such a room.

Arranging an interior without a window

The most important issue will be to choose the right color scheme. Of course, we can include some darker black, navy blue or dark green elements. However, let's limit them to accessories only. The dominant colors should be light, both on the walls and on the floor. If we are looking for variety, a wall mural will look great. In particular, placed on the wall opposite the bed. If we choose a landscape or other nature-related motif, we will compensate for not having a window. A wall mural with an impression of depth, on the other hand, will make the room seem optically larger. In a small bedroom without a window, walls with a structure, such as brick, will not work. They will overwhelm the room. Similarly, in the case of furniture. Decide on models with lightweight construction. It is also worth giving up too many decorations and trinkets. Optically enlarge the room with mirrors. We can opt for one large or several smaller ones, or a closet with mirrored doors.

How to illuminate a bedroom without a window?

The key issue in a room without a window will be lighting. This is because it must replace the natural light source. To make the interior functional, during the day, it should be very bright. However, we must remember the option of softening the lighting in the evening. The ideal solution will be several different light sources. For example, for the day, a special LED panel imitating natural light will be ideal. In the evening and at night, we can use wall lamps and lamps placed on bedside tables. An interesting solution is also to illuminate shelves and bookcases with special tapes. The most important thing is that the room is evenly lit. Then it gives the impression of being larger than it really is. In addition, the lack of a window can be compensated by a large door, through which light from another room will come in.

Advantages of a "blind" bedroom

A room without a window is not only disadvantages. Such a bedroom can become a real oasis of peace. The lack of a window dulls the noises coming from outside. In addition, when decorating a bedroom, we pay a lot of attention to the proper shading of the room. Various solutions are available on the market, from special blinds and roller blinds to extremely fleshy curtains. A windowless interior solves this problem! It will make it easier for us to fall asleep, and our sleep will be deeper and healthier. We also don't have to worry about rapid temperature fluctuations caused by the sunlight changing throughout the day. Moreover, such an interior simply has a cozier feel. The window is often an arrangement problem. It takes up a lot of space, and there is not much to fit on the wall where it is located. So it is worth taking advantage of the fact that we have as many as four walls at our disposal. A high bed headboard, a TV, posters, paintings or photos. All this can appear on our walls. Of course, in a reasonable amount. Or maybe we will decide to turn the bedroom into a private cinema and be tempted by a projector?
